Hawthorn fruit contain flavonoids, triterpene saponins, vitamin C, carotenoids and other biologically active substances.
Description:
The fruits yablokoobraznye, from spherical to ellipsoidal shape, hard, wrinkled Fruit color from yellow-orange and brownish-red to dark brown or black, sometimes with a whitish bloom of crystallized sugar. Odor is absent. The taste of water extract is sweetish.
Pharmacotherapeutic group:
Cardiotonic herbal remedy.
Pharmachologic effect:
The hawthorn fruit infusion has a cardiotonic, antispasmodic and moderate sedative effect, exhibits hypotensive properties, and normalizes blood coagulation indicators.
Indications for use:
In the complex therapy of functional disorders of cardiovascular activity (neurocirculatory dystonia, cardialgia).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy (I trimester), children under 12 years of age.
Method of administration and dosage:
About 15 g (1 tablespoon) of hawthorn fruit is placed in an enamel bowl, 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water is poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out. The volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
It is taken orally 1/2 -1/3 cup 2-3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.
The course of treatment is 20-30 days.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
Side effect:
Allergic reactions are possible. With prolonged use of the drug in large doses, drowsiness, lowering blood pressure, bradycardia are possible.
Interaction with other medicinal products:
When combined with cardiac glycosides, the cardiotonic effect is enhanced; with beta-blockers - an increase in the hypotensive effect.
Special instructions:
During treatment, blood pressure control is necessary.
