Pharmachologic effect:

Combined preparation for eliminating heartburn and stomach pain, the action of which is due to its constituent components.

Algeldrat has an antacid, absorbent, enveloping, carminative effect.

Magnesium hydroxide has a mild laxative effect.

The drug neutralizes free hydrochloric acid in the stomach, reduces the activity of gastric juice

inactivates pepsin and binds bile acids that enter the stomach as a result of reflux from the duodenum, has a protective effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum

accelerates the motility of the stomach and all parts of the intestine.

Does not cause secondary hypersecretion of hydrochloric acid and alkalosis.

Pharmacokinetics: absorption - low.

Indications for use:

- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase

- Acute gastritis with increased and normal secretory function in the acute phase, acute duodenitis

- Hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm, reflux esophagitis

- Discomfort, heartburn and epigastric pain with errors in the diet, after taking medications, including glucocorticosteroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as after drinking coffee, nicotine, alcohol.

Contraindications for use:

Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Sucrase / isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Hypophosphatemia, severe renal dysfunction, children under 10 years of age, Alzheimer's disease, pregnancy.

Method of administration and dosage:

The tablets should be chewed and kept in the mouth until completely absorbed.

Adults and children over 15 years of age: 1-2 tablets 4 times a day 1 hour after meals and in the evening before going to bed or if discomfort, epigastric pain, heartburn occurs.

In case of gastric ulcer, the drug must be taken within 30 minutes.

The maximum daily dose is 12 tablets.

Children from 10 to 15 years old are prescribed half of the recommended dose for adults.

For prevention - 1 tablet 15 minutes before taking medications that irritate the mucous membrane of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum.

The duration of treatment should not exceed 15-20 days.

Side effect:

Constipation, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain of a spastic nature, change in taste, hypermagnesemia, hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, hyperaluminaemia, encephalopathy, nephrocalcinosis, impaired renal function, allergic reactions.

In patients with concomitant renal failure - thirst, lowering blood pressure, hyporeflexia.

Overdose:

Symptoms

Kidney stones, severe constipation, drowsiness, hypermagnesemia.

Signs of metabolic alkalosis may also be observed: changes in mood, numbness or muscle pain, nervousness and fatigue, and unpleasant taste sensations.

Treatment

It is necessary to immediately take measures for the rapid elimination of the drug: rinse the stomach, induce vomiting, take activated charcoal.

Interaction with other medicinal products:

It can adsorb some drugs, thus reducing their absorption. Reduces and slows down the absorption of digoxin, indomethacin, salicylates, chlorpromazine, phenytoin, blockers of H2-histamine receptors, beta-blockers, diflunisal, isoniazid, tetracycline antibiotics, quinolones, ciprofloxacin, drofloxacin, and offloxacin. cefpodoxime, pivampicillin, rifampicin, indirect anticoagulants, barbiturates, fexofenadine, dipyridamole, zalcitabine, bile acids - chenodeoxycholic and ursodeoxycholic, penicillamine, iron and lithium preparations, quinidine, mexiloprazole, kinetoketrazole.

When taken simultaneously with enteric-coated preparations, the increased alkalinity of gastric juice can lead to accelerated destruction of the membrane and cause irritation of the stomach and duodenum.

M-anticholinergics, slowing down gastric emptying, enhance and lengthen the effect of the drug.

Special instructions:

The interval between taking Gastracid® and other medicines should be 1-2 hours.

For longer use (more than 20 days), regular medical supervision is necessary.

The drug contains sorbitol, which is contraindicated in congenital fructose intolerance.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in other activities that require concentration and psychomotor speed.
