DESCRIPTION
A preparation in the form of a solution for injection for the regulation and treatment of reproductive function in cows and sows.
In appearance, the drug is a colorless solution.
COMPOSITION
The drug contains 1 ml of the active substance d-cloprostenol (in the form of sodium salt). As auxiliary substances: citric acid, sodium hydroxide, chlorocresol, ethyl alcohol and water for injection.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
D-cloprostenol is a functional analogue of prostaglandin F2a with specific luteolytic activity. Its use in the lyuteinovoyfaze of the reproductive cycle causes a regression of the corpus luteum and creates conditions for the onset of physiological processes associated with a decrease in progesterone levels. One injection of D-cloprostenol from the 7th day of the cycle to natural luteolysis results in immediate resorption of the corpus luteum. The mechanism of action of D-cloprostenol in the control of ovulation is based on the induction of luteolysis and a decrease in the concentration of progesterone. After intramuscular administration of 75 mg of D-cloprostenol to sows, the maximum concentration of D-cloprostenol in blood plasma (2 g / l) is reached between 30 and 80 minutes after administration. After intramuscular administration of 150 mg of D-cloprostenol to cows, the maximum concentration of D-cloprostenol (approximately 1, 4 g / l) is achieved 90 minutes after administration. D - cloprostenol and its metabolites are excreted in the urine and feces. Less than 0.75% of the administered dose is eliminated with milk during the day; residual amounts of D-cloprostenol in tissues have not been established.
APPLICATION
Cows, pigs (sires), mares (not intended for food).
Bringing and synchronizing cows.
Stimulation of labor in cows, pigs and mares.
Bringing mares into the hunt.
Ovarian dysfunctions in the presence of a corpus luteum: postpartum anestrus, quiet hunting, irregular cycle, cycle without ovulation, persistent corpus luteum, corpus luteum cysts.
Endometritis, pyometritis.
Termination of pregnancy (during the first half of the term), fetal mummification.
Postpartum metropathy, delayed uterine involution.
Combination therapy of follicular cysts (10-14 days after GnRH or HCG administration).
The drug is administered intramuscularly. Before using the drug, a gynecological examination of animals is performed. The drug is used only in farms that are free from epizootic conditions.
For synchronization and induction of sexual heat in heifers and cows, Galapan is administered in a dose of 2 ml (150 Ојg of D-cloprostenol) in any phase of the sexual cycle (in cows, 40-60 days after calving).
Animals that have come to hunt are inseminated. Animals that did not come into the hunt on the 11th day after the first injection are injected with the drug again at the same dose.
If insemination is carried out without detecting heat, the animals are inseminated 72 hours and 96 hours after the second injection. To obtain positive results, insemination should be carried out in the first heat after Galapan application.
For the induction of farrowing in sows, the drug is administered once in a dose of 1 ml (75 Ојg D-cloprostenol) 3 days before the expected date of farrowing.
For the treatment of functional disorders of the ovaries (persistent corpus luteum, luteal cyst), the drug is administered in a dose of 2 ml (150 Ојg D-cloprostenol). Animals that have come to hunt are inseminated. Animals that have not come into the hunt are injected with Galapan again at the same dose 10 days after the first administration and inseminated 72 hours and 96 hours after the repeated administration of the drug.
For the treatment of postpartum or chronic endometritis in cows, the drug is administered at a dose of 2 ml (150 Ојg D-cloprostenol) in combination with etiotropic pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy. If necessary, Galapan is re-administered in 10-12 days.
To terminate pregnancy with fetal pathology, Galapan is administered in a dose of 2 ml (150 Ојg of D-cloprostenol).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in pregnant animals (except in cases of targeted termination of pregnancy or induction of labor).
It is not recommended to use the drug in mares with serious respiratory and / or gastrointestinal problems.
OVERDOSE
Cows, pigs: no harmful reactions were found even at a dosage 10 times higher than the therapeutic dose. Mares: In some cases, mild sweating and soft stools were observed at three times the dosage.
SIDE EFFECTS
There were no side effects and complications when using the drug in accordance with the instructions.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter of cows and sows for meat is allowed no earlier than 48 hours after the last injection of the drug. Meat of animals killed before the expiration of 48 hours after the last injection of the drug can be used for feeding carnivores.
Cow's milk can be used for food purposes without restriction.
PRECAUTIONS
Galapan, like all prostaglandins, can penetrate the skin and cause bronchospasm and abortion. Handle the product with care to avoid self-injection and skin contact. Women of reproductive age, people with asthma or bronchial problems should avoid contact with the drug or use disposable gloves. If breathing is difficult due to accidental inhalation or ingestion, seek medical advice immediately. In case of accidental contact with skin, rinse with plenty of water.
STORAGE
The drug should be stored in the manufacturer's closed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 25C В°. Shelf life 2 years.
