DESCRIPTION

Fungin Forte is an antimicrobial drug.

Dosage form: solution for external use. In appearance, the drug is a solution from light yellow to dark yellow.

COMPOSITION

The drug in 1 ml contains as an active ingredient: terbinafine hydrochloride - 10 mg, thiabendazole - 10 mg, metronidazole - 10 mg, lidocaine hydrochloride - 50 mg, dexamethasone sodium phosphate - 1 mg, and as auxiliary substances: benzyl alcohol - 300 mg, dimethyl sulfoxide - 100 mg, orange terpene - 5 mg and polyethylene glycol-400 - up to 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Fungin Forte belongs to the combined antimicrobial drugs. Terbinafine is an antifungal agent of the allylamine group, active against the causative agents of dermatomycosis in animals.

The mechanism of action is to suppress squalene epoxidase in the cell membrane of the fungus. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes cell death of the pathogen. Depending on the concentration, terbinafine has a fungicidal or fungistatic effect. Due to its high lipophilicity, terbinafine molecules accumulate in the stratum corneum, hair follicles, sebaceous glands; when applied topically, the drug penetrates into the systemic circulation to a small extent.

Thiabendazole is a fungicide from the azole class. It is active against pathogens of trichophytosis and microsporia of animals of the genera Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton, Achorion. Like other azoles, it blocks the activity of enzymes involved in the 14-demethylation of lanosterol, which leads to disruption of ergosterol synthesis. A change in the structure of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungal cells leads to a violation of its permeability, the release of biologically active substances from the cell and the destruction of the cell wall. In addition, thiabendazole disrupts the process of nuclear division, inhibits the reproductive capacity of fungi.

Metronidazole is a drug from the group of nitroimidazoles. The mechanism of action consists in the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitro group of metronidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic microorganisms and protozoa. The reduced 5-nitro group of metronidazole interacts with the DNA of the bacterial cell, inhibiting the synthesis of nucleic acids in it, which leads to the death of the microorganism.

Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, a methylated derivative of fluoroprednisolone. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, desensitizing, immunosuppressive, anti-shock and antitoxic effects, increases the sensitivity of beta-adrenergic receptors to endogenous catecholamines. The mechanism of action of dexamethasone is to suppress the activity of various tissue-destroying enzymes - proteases and nucleases, matrix metalloproteinases, hyaluronidase, phospholipase, inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins, kinins, leukotrienes and other inflammatory mediators from arachidonic acid.

Lidocaine - has a local anesthetic effect, blocks voltage-gated sodium channels, which prevents the generation of impulses in the endings of sensory nerves and the conduction of impulses along nerve fibers.

Fungin Forte, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in the recommended doses it does not have a local irritant, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effect. Causes minor irritation in eye contact.

PURPOSE

Fungin Forte is prescribed to dogs and cats for the treatment of fungal skin diseases, eczema of fungal etiology and seborrheic dermatitis.

APPLICATION

The drug is applied in a thin layer using a cotton-gauze swab, as well as by spraying or applying directly to the skin from a dropper bottle, lightly rubbing into the affected areas from the periphery to the center with up to 1 cm of borderline healthy skin. Treatments are carried out once or twice a day until clinical recovery, but no more than 15 days, which is confirmed by microscopic examinations of skin scrapings. To prevent the drug from licking off, the animals are put on a muzzle, collar or closed their jaws with a loop of braid, which are removed 15 to 20 minutes after treatment.

In severe cases of the disease, animals are additionally prescribed medications for specific and symptomatic therapy in accordance with the instructions for use.

It is prohibited to use Fungin Forte after the expiration date.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to use is the animal's hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Weakened animals, lactating and pregnant females, as well as puppies and kittens under 4 weeks of age cannot be processed.

The drug is not intended for use in productive animals.

OVERDOSE

Overdose symptoms have not been identified.

SIDE EFFECTS

There are no side effects and complications when using Fungin Forte according to this instruction. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and signs of skin irritation, the treatment is stopped, Fungin Forte is removed with a swab and washed off with water, antihistamines and symptomatic therapy are prescribed to the animal.

The peculiarities of the action at the first use of the drug and at its cancellation were not revealed.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Should not be used concomitantly with other topical preparations containing corticosteroid hormones.

In case of skipping the next treatment, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dose, according to the same scheme.

Unused medicinal product is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements. Empty vials from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.

PRECAUTIONS

When working with Fungin Forte, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicines. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap.

FIRST AID MEASURES

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eye, they should be immediately washed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the drug components should avoid direct contact with Fungin Forte. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for the use of the drug and a label with you).

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store the drug in the manufacturer's closed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature from 0 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer's closed packaging, is 2 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle - 30 days.
