DESCRIPTION

Frontline Spot On L is a drug for the elimination of lice, fleas, lice and ticks, as well as for the treatment of otodectosis in dogs weighing 20 to 40 kg. In appearance, the drug is a colorless transparent solution with a weak specific odor for external topical (point) application.

COMPOSITION

The drug contains fipronil (chemical formula: C12H4CL2F6N4OS) in 10% concentration as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary substances and solvents.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Fipronil has a pronounced insect-acaricidal contact effect against ectoparasites of dogs: lice, fleas, lice, ixodid ticks, as well as heiletiella and the causative agent of ear scabies.

The mechanism of action of fipronil is to block the GABA-dependent receptors of the parasite, in violation of the transmission of nerve impulses, which ultimately leads to paralysis and death of the parasites. Fipronil has no effect on mammalian GABA receptors. When applied to the skin of an animal, the drug is practically not absorbed and during the day it is evenly distributed over the surface of the body, accumulating in the sebaceous glands of the skin, while providing a long-term insect-acaricidal effect.

Frontline Spot According to the degree of effect on the body of warm-blooded animals, it belongs to low-hazard substances and in the recommended doses does not have resorptive-toxic, sensitizing, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects. Causes minor irritation in eye contact.

INDICATIONS

Assign to dogs weighing from 20 to 40 kg against ectoparasites: fleas, lice, lice, ixodid ticks, heyletiella. For the treatment of otodectosis (ear scabies) in animals.

APPLICATION

Frontline Spot It is applied externally by topical (point) application to the skin. Before processing, the tip of the pipette is broken off and the animal's hair is pushed apart in the region of the back (between the shoulder blades) and, pressing the pipette, its contents are completely squeezed onto the skin at one or several points. If the weight of the animal is about 40 kg, then you should use a pipette for dogs from 40 to 60 kg. The protective effect of the drug against ticks is 1 month, against insects - 2-2.5 months.

For the treatment of otodectosis (ear scabies), the ear canal is cleaned of crusts and scabs and the drug is instilled into both ears, 4-6 drops, even if only one ear is affected. For even distribution of the drug, the auricle is folded in half and lightly massaged at the base, and the rest of the drug can be applied to the skin between the shoulder blades. Processing is carried out once. In advanced cases of otodectosis complicated by otitis media, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed.

The drug can be used in pregnant and lactating bitches. You can wash animals with shampoo no earlier than 48 hours after treatment.

SIDE EFFECTS

Allergic reactions are possible in hypersensitive animals. In these cases, the use of the drug is stopped, the remnants of the drug on the skin are removed with a cotton swab and washed with water, if necessary, desensitizing therapy is performed.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Increased individual sensitivity to drug components. Puppies under 8 weeks of age should not be processed.

PRECAUTIONS

When handling the drug, it is recommended to use rubber gloves, especially if there are abrasions and other skin lesions on the hands. Do not drink, smoke or eat during processing. You should not pet the animal and keep it close to small children within 24 hours after using the drug.

FIRST AID MEASURES

In case of accidental contact with the skin or mucous membranes, it must be immediately washed off with a stream of water or removed with a swab and then washed with water. At the end of the treatment, hands should be thoroughly washed with warm water and soap.
