DESCRIPTION
Frontline Nexgard XL for dogs weighing from 25 to 50 kg is a drug for the treatment and prevention of aphanipterosis, in the complex therapy of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas, as well as acarosis caused by ixodid ticks. Dosage form: tablets for oral administration (chewable).
COMPOSITION
Tablets weighing 6.0g contain 2.27% (136mg) afoxolaner as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary substances: corn starch - 25%, soy protein flour - 20%, an additive with the aroma and taste of stewed beef - 20%, povidone K30 - 2.7 %, macrogol 400 - 7.1%, macrogol 4000 - 6.3%, macrogol 15 hydroxystearate - 3.1%, glycerol - 10%, medium triglyceride - 3.1%, potassium sorbate - 0.3%.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Frontline Nexgard refers to systemic insectoacaricidal drugs.
Included in the drug afoxolaner is an insectoacaricide of the isoxazoline group. The mechanism of action of afoxolaner is to block the GABA-dependent receptors of arthropods, hyperexcitation of neurons, disruption of the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of parasites.
Frontline Nexgard is active against fleas Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis, as well as ixodid ticks Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus.
After oral administration of the drug, afoxolaner is easily absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and reaches the systemic circulation, the maximum plasma concentration is observed 2-4 hours after administration, the bioavailability is 74%. Afoxolaner is slowly metabolized with the formation of hydroxylated compounds, excreted from the body mainly in the bile and slightly in the urine. The half-life of afoxolaner is 14 days.
The effect of the drug on fleas begins 30 minutes after administration; a single application of the drug ensures the destruction of fleas and ticks on the animal within 6 and 48 hours, respectively; prevents re-infestation for 4 weeks. Flea death occurs before egg laying, which prevents egg and larvae from contamination of the premises.
Frontline Nexgard, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in the recommended doses it does not have teratogenic, embryotoxic, mutagenic properties, does not have a local irritating effect.
With the simultaneous use of Frontline Nexgard with anthelmintic drugs, antibiotics, vaccines, glucocorticoids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), adverse reactions, as well as a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug, were not revealed.
INDICATIONS
The drug is prescribed to dogs for the treatment and prevention of aphanipterosis, in the complex therapy of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas, as well as acarosis caused by ixodid ticks.
APPLICATION
Frontline Nexgard is administered to dogs individually orally once in a minimum dose of 2.5 mg afoxolaner per 1 kg of animal weight in accordance with the table:

When using the drug in dogs weighing more than 50 kg, a combination of tablets should be used, at the rate of 2.5 mg of afoxolaner per 1 kg of weight. Breaking of tablets is not allowed.
Frontline Density has an attractive aroma and flavor and is generally eaten by dogs; otherwise, the drug is fed in a mixture with feed. Make sure the dog has completely swallowed the required dose.
Repeated treatments in the season of greatest activity of ectoparasites are carried out monthly.
Violations of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. In case of skipping the next treatment, the use of the drug should be resumed in the same dose and according to the same scheme.

Unused medicinal product is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindication to use is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, pronounced violations of liver and kidney function. The drug should not be used by patients with infectious diseases and weakened animals, puppies under the age of 8 weeks and / or weighing less than 2 kg, as well as animals of other species. For pregnant and lactating bitches, if necessary, Frontline Nexgard is used under medical supervision.
The drug is not intended for processing productive animals.
OVERDOSE
In case of an overdose of the drug, the animal may experience a decrease in appetite and weight gain, as well as skin changes (erythema, peeling) that disappear spontaneously.
SIDE EFFECTS
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and withdrawal were not revealed.
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. With prolonged use of the drug, it is possible to decrease appetite, spontaneously disappearing skin changes (erythema, peeling); rarely - vomiting, diarrhea and drowsiness.
If the dog vomits within the first two hours after taking Frontline Nexgard, it is recommended to give the drug again in the same dose.
PRECAUTIONS
Do not smoke, drink or eat while working. After handling the drug, wash your hands with soap and water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug.
It is forbidden to use empty packaging from the medicinal product for household purposes; it is placed in a plastic bag and disposed of with household waste.
FIRST AID MEASURES
In case of allergic reactions or in case of accidental ingestion of Frontline Nexgard into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution with a label or instructions for use of the drug.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's closed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of 0 В° C to 30 В° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 24 months from the date of manufacture. It is forbidden to use the medicinal product after the expiration date.
