DESCRIPTION
Forvet - solution for injection is used in calves, piglets, dogs and cats as an immunomodulating and antiviral drug. Forvet in appearance is a transparent or slightly opalescent, colorless or light brown liquid.

COMPOSITION
Forvet as an active ingredient contains 0.04 mg / ml Panavir - a purified extract of Solanum tuberosum shoots - a polysaccharide complex of the class of hexose glycosides, which includes: rhamnose (2-10%), arabinose (3-15%), glucose (10 -67%), galactose (2-27%), xylose (0.1-3%), mannose (0.1-5%), as well as uronic acids (2-5%) and auxiliary substances - sodium chloride and water for injections.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Forvet belongs to the group of immunomodulating drugs. 10. The PanaviraВ® polysaccharide complex, which is part of Forvet, has a cytoprotective effect, induces the synthesis of interferon, inhibits the replication of 2 viruses in cells, which leads to a significant decrease in the infectious activity of viruses and an increase in the viability of infected cells. The use of Forvet increases the resistance of animals to pathogens of infectious diseases of viral and bacterial etiology, unfavorable environmental factors, activates metabolic processes and cellular immunity, increases the nonspecific resistance of the animal organism.
Forvet, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a local irritant, mutagenic, carcinogenic and embryotropic effect.
INDICATIONS
Forvet is prescribed for calves and piglets for the prevention and complex therapy of gastrointestinal diseases of viral and bacterial etiology, for dogs and cats - for viral infections, including carnivore plague, infectious hepatitis, parvovirus enteritis, adenoviral infections, dogs - for complicated forms of atopic dermatitis (in complex therapy), cats - with dermatomycosis, panleukopenia (in complex therapy).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
For prophylactic purposes, Forvet is administered to animals twice with an interval of 24-48 hours, in the following single doses (ml per animal): for calves and pigs weighing more than 5 kg - 5 ml, for pigs weighing less than 5 kg - 2.5 ml subcutaneously; for cats and dogs weighing less than 5 kg - 2.5 ml, for animals weighing more than 5 kg - 5 ml intravenously or subcutaneously.
With a therapeutic purpose, Forvet is used in animals in complex therapy subcutaneously or intravenously in the following single doses: to calves and pigs with gastrointestinal diseases of viral and bacterial etiology twice with an interval of 24 hours - 5 ml per animal, piglets weighing less than 5 kg - 2.5 ml per animal; for dogs with plague of carnivores and infectious hepatitis twice with an interval of 48 hours: for animals weighing less than 5 kg - 2.5 ml, for animals weighing more than 5 kg - 5 ml; dogs with adenovirus and parvovirus enteritis - 1 ml per 2.5 kg body weight once a day for 7-10 days in a row; for dogs with complicated forms of atopic dermatitis - subcutaneously at the rate of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight, once a day for 5-7 days; cats with rotavirus enteritis, herpesvirus rhinotracheitis and calciviral infection - 1 ml per 5 kg of body weight once a day for 7-10 days in a row; cats with dermatomycosis - subcutaneously at the rate of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight, once a day for 7 consecutive days; for cats with panleukopenia - intravenously or subcutaneously at the rate of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight, once a day for 5-7 days.
The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the attending veterinarian, depending on the severity of the clinical condition of the animal.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Overdose symptoms have not been identified when using Forvet. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, its use is stopped and antihistamines are prescribed.
The peculiarities of the action at the first administration of the drug and at its cancellation were not revealed.
Forvet is not recommended for pregnant females and during lactation.
Avoid gaps in the use of the drug, as this 3 may lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one dose is missed, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of the drug is the increased individual sensitivity of animals to the components of Forvet.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity to the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of Forvet is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic therapy are prescribed.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, is 5 years from the date of manufacture.
Store Forvet in closed manufacturer's packaging separately from food and feed, in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 4 В° C to 25 В° C. It is forbidden to use the medicinal product Forvet after the expiration date.
PACKAGING
Forvet is produced in 5 ml packs in glass ampoules, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps. Ampoules or vials of 5 ml, 5 pieces in a blister strip, together with instructions for use, are packed in cardboard boxes. Each package is supplied with instructions for use.
