DESCRIPTION
Foresto is an insectoacaricidal drug. ForestoВ® is available in the form of a collar for cats and dogs weighing more than 8 kg - 70 cm. In appearance, the preparation is a gray polymer tape with the Bayer logo applied and 2 or 3 loops for fixing. The collar comes with three reflective clips that help you keep track of the animal in the dark.
Active ingredients: imidacloprid 4.5 g and flumethrin 2.03 g.
INDICATIONS
The Foresto collar is designed to kill fleas (C. felis, C. canis, P. irritans), lice (Felicola subrostratus), lice (Trichodectes canis) and ixodid ticks (I. ricinus, I. hexagonus, R. turanicus, I. ricinus , I. scapularis, I. hexagonus, R. sanguineus, D. reticulates, Amblyomma americanum, Dermacentor variabilis, Ixodes holocyclus), parasitizing dogs and cats, as well as to protect animals from their attack. Continuous use of the ForestoВ® collar protects animals from insects and ixodid ticks for 8 months.
APPLICATION
The ForestoВ® Collar can be used for puppies over 7 weeks old and kittens over 10 weeks of age. The use of the collar for pregnant and lactating animals is possible after consulting a veterinarian. It should not be used by patients with infectious diseases and convalescent animals.
ForestoВ® collar is waterproof, insecticidal and acaricidal efficiency is maintained after washing and bathing the animal.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
The action of imidoclapride disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses. Imidacloprid interacts with nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, causes impaired coordination of movements, paralysis and death of ectoparasites.
The action of flumethrin (pyrethroid insecticide) is the irreversible activation of sodium channels of nerve cell membranes, depolarization of cell membranes and blockade of nerve conduction, which leads to impaired motor reflexes, and ultimately causes complete paralysis and death of arthropods.
EFFICIENCY
Imidacloprid and flumethrin, which are part of the drug, possessing a synergistic effect, have a pronounced insectoacaricidal and repellent effect. The repellent effect contributes to the death of ticks and insects after contact with the animal's hair, preventing the bite of parasites, which reduces the possibility of transmission of pathogens of vector-borne diseases to animals.

SHELF LIFE
