DESCRIPTION
Follimag (Follimag) - a lyophilisate for the preparation of a solution for injection to stimulate sexual heat in farm animals, fur-bearing animals and the treatment of ovarian hypofunction in cows. In appearance, the preparation is a porous mass from white to light brown.
COMPOSITION
Follimag as an active ingredient contains gonadotropin of blood serum of pregnant mares - 500 IU / vial and 1000 IU / vial, and as auxiliary components: glycine - 25 mg, monosubstituted potassium phosphate - 8 mg, sodium phosphate disubstituted - 1.6 mg.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacological group - hormones and their antagonists.
The drug contains the gonadotropic hormone of the blood serum of pregnant mares (PMSG), purified from immunogenic proteins. PMSG has both follicle-stimulating and luteinizing activity and is not cross-species specific.
Follimag stimulates the growth and development of follicles in females of farm animals, and in males it enhances the function of interstitial cells in the testes, testosterone synthesis and, as a result, increases spermatogenesis and sexual activity.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Follimag belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Follimag is used to stimulate sexual activity in farm animals, fur-bearing animals and to treat ovarian hypofunction in cows.
Before use, the contents of the vial are dissolved in at least 3 ml of sterile saline or water for injection (it is not allowed to use a drug that forms insoluble flakes or sediment upon dissolution).
To stimulate sexual activity and increase fertility, the drug is administered once: to cows intramuscularly in the thigh area at doses of 500-600 IU / animal. In the absence of a manifestation of a pronounced sexual heat or infertile insemination, the drug should be reapplied in the same dose 21-23 days after a preliminary gynecological examination of the animals; sows intramuscularly at a dose of 500-600 IU / animal 24 hours after weaning of piglets; for fur animals during the rutting period, subcutaneously from the inner side of the thigh at a dose of 50 - 60 IU / animal.
For the treatment of ovarian hypofunction in cows, Follimag is used intramuscularly at a dose of 900-1000 IU / animal.
In order to increase the sexual activity of rams and boars, the drug is administered subcutaneously from the inner side of the thigh twice with an interval of 3-4 days at a dose of 600-800 IU / animal and 1000-1200 IU / animal, respectively.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
There are no data on drug overdose.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and when it is canceled have not been established.
In case of an accidental increase in the interval between two injections of the drug, it should be administered as soon as possible in the prescribed dosage.
There are no data on interactions with other drugs.
Livestock products after using Follimag for food purposes can be used without restrictions.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is forbidden to use Follimag in weakened animals that have not reached puberty.
SIDE EFFECTS
In case of manifestation of signs of anaphylactic reaction, the animals are immediately administered adrenolytic and / or antihistamines in accordance with the instructions for their use.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's closed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 2 В° C to 10 В° C.
The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of production.
