Adults when taken orally at the beginning of treatment - 750 mg 3 times / day; after achieving the clinical effect - 1.5 g / day in 3-4 doses.

Children aged 2-5 years - 100 mg 2 times / day; over 5 years old - 100 mg 3 times / day.

pharmachologic effect

Mucolytic agent. It destroys the disulfide bonds of mucopolysaccharide and changes the charge of its ions, as a result of this, the composition of the bronchial secretion changes: the amount of neutral glycopeptides decreases, the sialoglycoprotein function increases. Stimulates the motor function of the ciliated epithelium of the respiratory tract, reduces viscosity and facilitates the passage of bronchial secretions and secretions from the sinus sinuses.

Side effect

From the digestive system: rarely - nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, diarrhea, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract. Allergic reactions: rarely - skin rash, angioedema.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Contraindicated for use in the first trimester of pregnancy. Use with caution in the II and III trimesters of pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding).

Application for impaired renal function

Contraindicated in chronic glomerulonephritis in the acute phase.
