Floroxinum (Floroxinum) injection 100ml

DESCRIPTION

Floroxin (Floroxinum) - a veterinary drug used for infectious diseases in cattle and pigs. In appearance, the preparation is a clear oily liquid from light yellow to yellow color without mechanical impurities.

COMPOSITION

1.0 ml of the drug contains 300.0 mg of florfenicol, 27.4 mg of flunixin meglumine (respectively 16.5 mg of flunixin), excipients and solvent up to 1.0 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Florfenicol, which is part of the drug, belongs to synthetic antibiotics from the fenicol group (thiamphenicol derivative), in the molecule of which the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom. Florfenicol binds to the ribosomal 50S subunit of a bacterial cell and blocks the enzyme peptidyl transferase, which leads to inhibition of protein synthesis in bacteria at the ribosome level. Florfenicol is active against bacteria that produce acetyl transferase and are resistant to chloramphenicol.

Florfenicol has a bactericidal effect against most gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Enterobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus somnus, Fusobacterium necrophilus melusophilus, p. Bordetella bronchiseptica, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyorhinis and others.

Flunixin meglumine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with a pronounced analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect. It is a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenases that reduces the production of prostaglandins - mediators of inflammation and pain.

When administered parenterally, flunixin is rapidly absorbed and penetrates into all organs and tissues. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 1.3 hours, and the therapeutic concentration in the organs and tissues of animals is maintained for 48 hours. Flunixin is 99% bound to proteins and excreted from the body mainly with feces (57%) and, to a lesser extent, with urine (34%).

When administered parenterally, florfenicol is also rapidly absorbed, penetrating into all organs and tissues. The maximum concentration of the antibiotic in the blood is reached after 3.3 hours, and the therapeutic concentration in the organs and tissues of animals is maintained for 48 hours. It is excreted from the body unchanged and in the form of metabolites, mainly with urine and partially with feces.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

In pigs, the drug is used for infectious diseases accompanied by lesions of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract (actinobacillary pleuropneumonia, hemophilia, pasteurellosis, atrophic rhinitis, streptococcosis, salmonellosis, colibacillosis, etc.) caused by susceptible bacterial pathogens to fludenicol.

In cattle, the drug is used for infectious diseases accompanied by lesions of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract (pasteurellosis, pleuropneumonia, salmonellosis, colibacillosis, etc.) caused by bacterial pathogens sensitive to florfenicol, as well as lesions of hooves (hoof rot, necrobacteriosis infectious pododermatitis) and infectious keratoconjunctivitis.

In cattle, the drug is administered once subcutaneously to the middle third of the neck at a dose of 2 ml / 15 kg of animal weight or twice intramuscularly with an interval of 48 hours at a dose of 1 ml / 15 kg of animal weight.

Pigs are injected twice intramuscularly behind the ear with an interval of 48 hours at a dose of 1 ml / 20 kg of animal weight.

Do not inject more than 10 ml of the drug in one place because of the possible painful effect.
