Pharmacological action
The beneficial effect of flax seeds is due to the presence of a large number of enveloping substances (mucus and linamarine glycoside), as well as the presence of oil. When ingested, enveloping substances protect the sensitive nerve endings of the gastrointestinal tract from irritation, which prevents the development of inflammatory diseases, especially with increased secretory activity of the stomach.
Flaxseed oil is a source of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) - 65-90%, of which 55-70% is linolenic acid related to OMEGA 3 PUFAs, and 10-20% is linoleic acid related to PUFAs OMEGA 6.
The ratio of PUFA OMEGA 6 / OMEGA 3 contained in flax seed oil is optimal for good nutrition.
Flax seeds contain dietary fiber, which helps to cleanse the body, normalize digestion and improve intestinal microflora.
Flax seed, getting into the large intestine, continues to swell, loosen its contents and facilitate the movement of feces, which is positive for functional constipation and obesity.
