DESCRIPTION
Fitofastum is a drug for the treatment of mastitis, abscesses, acute and chronic arthritis, bursitis, tendenitis, articular and muscular rheumatism, osteochondrosis, bruises in animals. Dosage form: ointment for external use. In appearance, the drug is a homogeneous ointment mass of saturated golden-yellow color with a pleasant smell.
COMPOSITION
Fitofastum contains eucalyptus essential oil - 3.22 g as active ingredients, laurel essential oil - 1.21 g, camphor - 0.5 g, cedar essential oil - 0.16 g, menthol - 0.08 g, and as an auxiliary substance - petroleum jelly up to 100g.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Fitofastum belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of drugs for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system in animals.
Eucalyptus essential oil has pronounced phytoncidal properties; has an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic effect, accelerates the healing of wounds and burns.
Laurel essential oil has healing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. And also - relieves muscle tension, softens the skin.
Camphor has an antiseptic, local irritant, local analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, improves microcirculation in the area of ​​application. Oxidation products combine with glucuronic acid and are excreted by the kidneys. Part of camphor is excreted unchanged by the lungs and with bile.
Essential oil of cedar has soothing, tonic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal properties.
Menthol has a cooling, mild antiseptic, soothing, itching and analgesic effect.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Phytopastum, according to GOST 12.1.007-76, is classified as a low-hazard substance (hazard class 4).
Fitofastum should not be prescribed concurrently with other drugs for external use.
INDICATIONS
Fitofastum is used in animals for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system (acute and chronic arthritis, bursitis, tendenitis, tendovaginitis, bruises, articular and muscular rheumatism, osteochondrosis), as well as for the treatment of mastitis, lymphadenitis in farm animals.
APPLICATION
Fitofastum is used externally in the form of rubbing. The ointment is applied to the skin area in the area of ​​the inflammatory process with a thin layer and rubbed with a light massaging motion for 2-3 minutes 2-3 times a day for 3-4 days, depending on the severity of the disease.
Treatment of mastitis: when the first signs of the disease appear, the udder and nipples are generously lubricated and massaged until the ointment is absorbed. The procedure should be repeated every 4 hours until the clinical signs of the disease disappear. This treatment is only complementary and is only used in combination with the treatment prescribed by the veterinarian after examining the animal.
Treatment of udder edema: the udder is generously lubricated and massaged until the ointment is absorbed. Treatment is carried out until clinical recovery.
Treatment of bruises, hematomas, lymphangitis, tendenitis and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system: it is recommended to protect the affected areas with a bandage so that the animals cannot additionally injure them, which will prevent healing.
Violation of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If the interval between two treatments is accidentally extended, it should be applied as soon as possible.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
The use of Fitofastum in pregnant animals, as well as during lactation, is possible. Data confirming the negative effects of Fitofastum on the fetus have not been identified.
It is not recommended to use Fitofastum before slaughter.
Livestock products, including milk, can be used without restrictions 72 hours after the last use of the drug. Milk obtained earlier than the established period is used after boiling for feed to fur animals. In case of forced slaughter of an earlier established date, meat and by-products are used as food for animals.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindications to the use of Fitofastum are violations of the integrity of the skin and individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.
OVERDOSE
Overdose symptoms have not been identified in animals.
SIDE EFFECTS
Side effects and complications when using Fitofastum in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and, if necessary, antihistamines are prescribed to the animal.
PRECAUTIONS
When working with Fitofastum, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicinal products. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap. People with hypersensitivity to drug components should avoid direct contact with Fitofastum. Empty jars from the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.
FIRST AID MEASURES
In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, immediately rinse them with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug and a label with you).
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Fitofastum is stored in closed manufacturer's packaging, separately from food and feed, in a place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of production. After the first opening of the package, the drug should be stored for 6 months.
