The principle of operation of the Little Doctor MD300C23 pulse oximeter is based on the fact that oxyhemoglobin (hemoglobin saturated with oxygen, HbO2) and deoxyhemoglobin (oxyhemoglobin, which gave up oxygen to the body's cells, HbR), present in the blood have different absorption of light in the red and infrared regions of the spectrum.
