Fenbendazole 6 tablets
DESCRIPTION
Fetbal is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic drug for dogs and cats. In appearance, these are flat gray tablets weighing 0.6 g, with a risk on one side, and a logo on the other (a cross in the center of the shield).
COMPOSITION
In its composition, the drug contains 150 mg of fenbendazole (5-phenyl-thio-2-benzimidazole carbamate) as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary components (glucose, calcium stearate and potato starch).
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Fenbendazole, which is part of the drug, has a detrimental effect on all stages of development of nematodes and cestodes, disrupting carbohydrate metabolism and microtubular function of helminths, which leads to their death. Fenbendazole does not dissolve in water and is poorly absorbed in the intestines of animals, due to which it has a strong effect on helminths, destroying them and without affecting the animal's body. The drug causes the death of both sexually mature helminths and their larvae and eggs, therefore it is prescribed for puppies to prevent intrauterine or lactogenic infection of puppies with toxocariasis and hookworm disease.
Application of Fenbendazole prevents contamination of the habitat of animals and their owners with helminth eggs. Fenbendazole does not affect the course of pregnancy, does not irritate mucous membranes, and is readily eaten by animals. For warm-blooded animals, the drug is moderately toxic (III hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in the recommended doses it does not have embryotoxic, teratogenic and sensitizing effects.
INDICATIONS
Toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uncinariosis, ankylostomiasis, dipylidiosis, teniasis of dogs and cats, as well as when dogs are affected by protozoa Giardia (-Lambiia) spp.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
The drug is given to animals in the morning feeding with a small amount of food: for cats, puppies and kittens (over 3 weeks of age) - 1 tablet per 3 kg of animal body weight, once a day for 3 consecutive days; dogs - a single dose of 1 tablet per 1.5 kg of animal weight.
SIDE EFFECTS
Side effects and complications when using Fenbendazole in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to fenbendazole and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of Fenbendazole tablets is stopped.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Fenbendazole tablets should not be used in malnourished and infectious animals.
