Estronol (Estronolum) 10ml
DESCRIPTION
Estronol (Estronolum) - a veterinary drug for the synchronization of sexual heat is a clear, colorless liquid, without mechanical impurities.
COMPOSITION
1 ml of the drug contains 0.25 mg of cloprostenol.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Cloprostenol, which is a part of the drug, is a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin F2a .. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the luteolytic (absorbable) action of the corpus luteum of the ovaries. During the luteal phase of the sexual cycle, it causes a regression of the corpus luteum, removes the inhibitory effect of progesterone on the hypothalamic-pituitary complex, which promotes the growth of follicles in the ovaries and, in turn, increases the level of estrogen in the blood, which causes hunting and estrus in female animals. The drug enhances the contractile function of the uterus, exhibiting biological activity only in the presence of actively functioning corpus luteum in the ovaries.
From the moment of drug administration to the onset of the first signs of estrus, 46-70 hours pass. The most optimal time for artificial insemination after drug administration is 76 hours.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
The drug is used intramuscularly to synchronize the sexual heat; treatment of cows with luteal and follicular cysts, persistent yellow bodies, with subinvolution of the uterus and endometritis; treatment and prevention of functional disorders of the ovaries in pigs, induction and synchronization of farrowing; termination of pregnancy in animals (according to indications).
To synchronize sexual heat in cows and heifers, the drug is injected twice, 2 ml at intervals of 1O days. The first dose of the drug is administered at any phase of the sexual cycle (in cows from 40 to 60 days after birth). In the absence of an arousal stage on the 11th day after the first, a second dose should be administered, and on the 14th day (72-76 hours after the second injection), frontal artificial insemination (regardless of external signs of sexual heat) is performed with repeated insemination at 15 th day.
For the treatment of cows with ovarian lutein cysts, the drug is administered once in a dose of 4 ml. To increase the therapeutic efficacy, the drug is administered in the same dose with a subcutaneous injection of gonadotropin FFA in a dose of 2.5-3.0 thousand mouse units (IU).
In case of follicular ovarian cysts, cows are injected subcutaneously with chorionic gonadotropin at a dose of 4-5 thousand units or intramuscularly surfagon in a dose of 5 ml for three days. After 10-12 days, animals that have not come into heat are injected with the drug in a dose of 2 ml.
For cows with persistent yellow bodies, the drug is administered at a dose of 2 ml, and artificial insemination is carried out at the first signs of sexual heat. If heat does not occur, then 2 ml of the drug should be reintroduced on the 11th day after the first injection, followed by insemination 72-76 hours later in accordance with paragraph 3.2 of this instruction.
For the treatment of cows suffering from postpartum endometritis and subinvolution of the uterus, the drug is administered twice, 2 ml at intervals of 10-11 days, with the simultaneous administration of etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy.
For the treatment of sows that did not show heat within 12 days after weaning piglets with functional disorders of the ovaries and restoration of their reproductive function, the drug is administered in a dose of 1 ml in combination with one of the gonadotropic drugs (FFA at a dose of 10 IU per 1 kg of body weight and etc.).
To synchronize farrowing in sows and prevent postpartum diseases, the drug is administered on the 113-114 day of gestation at a dose of 0.7 ml per head. In most cases, childbirth occurs in 24-35 hours.
Termination of unwanted pregnancy in cows (according to indications) is achieved by administering the drug in a dose of 2 ml per head.
