DESCRIPTION
Estrophan (Oestrophan) is an injection solution for the treatment and regulation of reproductive function in female farm animals. In appearance, the drug is a clear, colorless solution.
COMPOSITION
1 ml of the drug contains cloprostenol -250 Ојg as an active ingredient and auxiliary components: citric acid -9.55 mg, chlorocresol - 1 mg, sodium hydroxide - 5 mg and water for injection up to 1 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacological group - hormones and their antagonists.
Cloprostenol is a synthetic hormone prostaglandin PGF2a. It has a luteolytic effect on the corpus luteum of the ovaries, removes the inhibitory effect of progesterone on the hypothalamic-pituitary complex, promotes the growth of follicles in the ovaries and, as a consequence, an increase in the level of estrogen in the blood, the manifestation of sexual desire and subsequent ovulation of mature follicles.
Strengthens the contraction of the uterus.
In animals, cloprostenol is rapidly metabolized and excreted in the urine within 24 hours.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Estrofan belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Estrofan is used for the induction and synchronization of the sexual cycle in heifers, cows and mares, sow farrowing, treatment of cows and heifers with functional disorders of the ovaries (persistent yellow body, luteal cyst), ovarian dysfunction (quiet heat, anovulatory cycle), follicular cysts (as combination therapy). For the prevention and treatment of postpartum diseases of the uterus in cows and sows, as well as for termination of pregnancy in case of fetal pathology.
Estrofan is administered intramuscularly to animals.
For the induction and synchronization of sexual heat, the drug is administered: to cows and heifers in a dose of 2 ml twice with an interval of 10 days.
The first dose is administered at any phase of the sexual cycle (in cows in the period 40-60 days after calving), the second - on the 11th day after the first injection.
72 - 76 hours after the introduction of the second dose, they are inseminated twice without taking into account the manifestation of sexual heat with an interval of 12 hours; In mares, the drug is administered once in a dose of 1 ml.
In the presence of a functioning corpus luteum, the drug is administered 4 to 6 days after the onset of estrus.
For the induction of farrowing in sows, the drug is administered once in a dose of 0.7 ml, starting from the 111th day of pregnancy.
The largest number of induced farrowings is observed within 24 - 35 hours; after drug administration.
For the treatment of functional disorders of the ovaries in cows and heifers (persistent corpus luteum, luteal cyst), the drug is administered immediately after diagnosis at a dose of 2 ml / animal and again at the same dose after 10 days, followed by double insemination 72 - 76 hours after the second drug administration.
Cows that have not come into the hunt 50 days after calving (ovarian hypofunction, persistent corpus luteum) are treated with serum gonadotropin (1000 IU) or surfagon with simultaneous administration of 1 ml of Estrofan.
Animals that come to hunt are inseminated.
Cows that have not come into the hunt are injected with the drug again at a dose of 1 ml 10 days after the start of treatment.
When treating formular cysts in cows, a chronic hormone (hCG) is preliminarily injected subcutaneously, according to the instructions for its use, and 10 days after receiving a positive ovarian reaction, Estrofan is administered at a dose of 2 ml. The beginning of the appearance of sexual heat is noted on the third day after the administration of the drug.
For the prevention and treatment of postpartum diseases of the uterus in cows and sows, the drug is administered in a dose of 2 ml no later than 6-12 hours after calving, for sows in a dose of 0.7 ml in 2-4 hours after the introduction of the placenta.
For the treatment of cows with postpartum or chronic endometritis, the drug is administered in a dose of 2 ml in combination with etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy.
If it is necessary to terminate pregnancy, in case of fetal pathology, the drug is administered in an amount of 2 ml at any stage of pregnancy, as indicated.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
It is necessary to avoid skipping the administration of the next dose of the drug, since this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy.
No interactions with other drugs have been found.
Milk of cows and mares, obtained within 48 hours after the last injection of Estrofan preparation, can be used for food purposes after heat treatment, further without restrictions.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 72 hours after the last injection of the drug.
In the event of the forced slaughter of an animal before the established date, the meat can be used to feed fur-bearing animals.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
The use of the drug is contraindicated in pregnant animals (causes abortion), as well as in case of increased sensitivity of animals to cloprostenol.
SIDE EFFECTS
Side effects and complications when using Estrofan in accordance with this instruction in farm animals, as a rule, are not observed.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store the drug in the manufacturer's sealed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 10 В° C to 25 В° C.
The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 3 years from the date of production.
PACKAGING
The drug is released packaged in 2 ml glass ampoules in glass vials of appropriate capacity, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps.
Ampoules with the drug are packaged in 10 pieces in cardboard boxes; bottles - 1 piece in a cardboard box.
