DESCRIPTION

Equalan Duo is prescribed to horses for the treatment and prevention of helminthiasis. In appearance, the drug is a homogeneous orange paste.

COMPOSITION

Equalan Duo as active ingredients in one syringe (7.74 g) contains: ivermectin - 1.120 g (15.5 mg / g) and praziquantel - 0.6 g (77.5 mg / g), as well as auxiliary components: titanium dioxide - 0.155 g, antioxidant (E 320) - 0.02 g, dye (E 110) - 0.03 g and glycerin - up to 7.74 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Ivermectin, which is part of Eqvalan, belongs to macrocyclic lactones and has a wide spectrum of antiparasitic action. The mechanism of action of ivermectin lies in its effect on the current of chlorine ions through the membranes of nerve and muscle cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chlorine channels, as well as gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors. Changes in the current of chlorine ions disrupt the conduction of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasite. Praziquantel is active against nematodes and cestodes, causing muscle paralysis and destruction. outer cover of helminths, which leads to their death.

Ekvalan Duo, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

Equalan Duo is prescribed for foals weighing at least 100 kg, and adult horses, including mares and stallions.

Deworming is carried out 2-4 times a year, depending on the invasiveness of the external environment.Equalan Duo should not be used in foals younger than 5 months.

OVERDOSE

In recommended doses, it does not have a sensitizing, teratogenic, embryotoxic and mutagenic effect, is well tolerated by horses of different breeds and ages.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Ekvalan Duo is prohibited to use in milking mares in view of its excretion with milk, it is not used in lactating mares, whose milk is used for human food. The drug is toxic to fish, other aquatic organisms and bees.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Store and transport the drug in the manufacturer's packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 4 В° C to 25 В° C.
