active substance:
activated glycyrrhizic acid (equivalent to ammonium glycyrrhizinate)0.1 g
excipients: malic acid; fumaric acid; vitamin C; folic acid; propylene glycol; tween 80 (polysorbate 80); purified water

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

pharmachologic effect

Antiviral agent for external and local use. Glycyrrhizic acid is active against DNA and RNA viruses, including various strains of viruses Herpes simplex, Varicella zoster, human papillomaviruses, cytomegaloviruses. The antiviral effect is apparently associated with the induction of the formation of interferon. It interrupts the replication of viruses in the early stages, causes the release of the virion from the capsid, thereby preventing its penetration into cells. This is due to the selective dose-dependent inhibition of phosphorylating kinase P. Interacts with the structures of the virus, changing various phases of the viral cycle, which is accompanied by irreversible inactivation of viral particles (in a free state outside the cells), blocking the introduction of active viral particles through the cell membrane into the cell, and also a violation of the ability of viruses to synthesize new structural components. Inhibits viruses at concentrations that are non-toxic to normally functioning cells. Virus strains resistant to acyclovir and iodouridine are highly sensitive to glycyrrhizic acid. It also has an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and tissue regeneration effect both in the early manifestations of a viral infection and in ulcerative forms.

Side effect

Rarely: allergic reactions.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

Application during pregnancy and lactation is possible for absolute indications. In experimental studies, the embryotoxic and teratogenic effects of glycyrrhizic acid have not been established.

special instructions

In the treatment of skin infections caused by the Varicella zoster virus, external use of glycyrrhizic acid should be combined with the ingestion of specific antiviral drugs. During the period of treatment, it is not recommended to use inducers of interferon synthesis. If signs of irritation of the skin or mucous membranes appear, treatment should be discontinued.

Drug interactions

With the simultaneous use of glycyrrhizic acid with other antiviral drugs (acyclovir, iodouridine, interferon), potentiation of the antiviral action is noted.
