DESCRIPTION
Enroxil tablets with meat flavor for the treatment of dogs with diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology. In appearance, the drug is a round, slightly biconvex light brown tablets with white or dark blotches, with a line on one side.
COMPOSITION
In 1 tablet, the drug contains enrofloxacin, respectively, 50 mg as an active ingredient, and as auxiliary substances: mannitol, corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, flavor with the smell of meat 10022, methacrylic acid copolymer, sodium lauryl sulfate, dibutyl sebacate, sodium croscarmellose dioxidose, silica , talc and magnesium stearate.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Enroxil tablets with meat flavor belongs to antibacterial drugs of the fluoroquinolone group.
Enrofloxacin is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus hyicus, Strep-tococcus spp., Borysplasia spp., Klebsiella spp. , Corynebacterium pyogenes, Proteus spp., Mycoplasma spp., Brucella canis, Actinobacillus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Haemophillus spp., Clostridium perfringens.
After oral administration, enrofloxacin is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into most organs and tissues of the body. Its maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 1.5-2.0 hours and is maintained at a therapeutic level for 24 hours. Enrofloxacin is excreted from the body of animals mainly unchanged in urine and bile.
Enroxil tablets with meat taste, according to the degree of impact on the body, refers to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
INDICATIONS
Enroxil tablets with a taste of meat are used to treat dogs and cats with diseases of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system, infections of soft tissues and otitis media, infected wounds and other diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology, the causative agents of which are sensitive to enrofloxacin.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Enroxil tablets with meat flavor are administered to animals orally individually in crushed form with feed or injected forcibly onto the root of the tongue in a daily dose of 5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of animal weight, which is: one tablet weighing 0.055 g (15 mg of enrofloxacin) per 3 kg of animal weight , one tablet weighing 0.183 g (50 mg of enrofloxacin) per 10 kg of animal weight and one tablet weighing 0.55 g (150 mg of enrofloxacin) per 30 kg of animal weight.
The daily dose of the drug can be divided into two doses. The duration of the course of treatment is 5 - 10 days.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
In case of an overdose of the drug in animals, there may be a decrease in appetite, depression, vomiting, diarrhea, and nervous disorders. Symptomatic treatment.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and withdrawal have not been established.
There have been no specific studies on the safety of enrofloxacin in target animals (cats and dogs) during pregnancy and lactation. The drug can be used in lactating and pregnant females if the benefits of its use outweigh the potential risk.
It is forbidden to use Enroxil tablets with meat taste for kittens under 2 months old, puppies under 12 months old (puppies of large breeds - under 18 months old) due to the possible negative impact on cartilage tissue during the period of active growth.
Avoid skipping the administration of the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one dose is missed, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to use is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to phytoinolones and other components of the drug. It is forbidden to use Enroxil tablets with the taste of meat for animals with significant disorders of the development of cartilage tissue and lesions of the central nervous system, accompanied by convulsions.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. In rare cases, vomiting, increased defecation and softening of feces are possible, these symptoms disappear spontaneously and do not require discontinuation of the drug.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
