DESCRIPTION
Enroxil 10% is an injection solution for the treatment of farm animals with diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology.
COMPOSITION
Enroxil 10% solution as an active ingredient in 1 ml contains 0.1 g of enrofloxacin, as well as auxiliary components. In appearance, it is a clear solution of light yellow color for oral administration. The drug is packaged in 100 ml dark glass vials.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The active ingredient of the drug - fluoroquinolone (enrofloxacin) has an antimicrobial effect against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including strains of Escherichia spp., Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonte spp. ., Corynebacterium spp., Proteus spp., Mycoplasma spp., Haemophilus spp. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on its ability to inhibit the activity of the enzyme gyrase, which is involved in the replication of the DNA helix in the nucleus of a bacterial cell. After parenteral administration, enrofloxacin is well absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration of enrofloxacin in blood plasma is reached 1-1.5 hours after injection of the drug, the therapeutic concentration is maintained for 24 hours. It is excreted mainly unchanged in the urine and bile. According to the degree of effect on the body of warm-blooded animals, the drug belongs to low-hazard substances and in recommended doses does not have a local irritating, resorptive-toxic, allergenic and sensitizing effect.
INDICATIONS
Assign to small ruminants, calves, pigs and dogs in the complex therapy of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin, including colibacillosis, salmonellosis, enzootic pneumonia, mastitis-metritis-agalactia, streptococcosis, mycoplasmosis, urogenital infections.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Enroxil 10% solution is administered intramuscularly to pigs, the rest of the animals - subcutaneously at a dose of 0.25 ml per 10 kg of body weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight), for salmonellosis and respiratory infections at a dose of 0.5 ml per 10 kg of body weight animal (5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of body weight). The drug is prescribed to farm animals once a day for 2-3 days, with salmonellosis - 5 days.
The maximum amount of the drug for injection in one place for large animals is no more than 5 ml, for small animals - 2.5 ml.
SIDE EFFECTS
In some cases, with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug or violation of the order of intake and dosing, allergic reactions, changes in appetite and diarrhea may occur. When these signs appear, the drug is discontinued and desensitizing therapy is performed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Increased individual sensitivity of animals to fluoroquinolones. It is not recommended for use in lactating animals whose milk is used for food purposes. The drug is not prescribed for pregnant animals suffering from liver and kidney diseases. Enrofloxacin is not used in combination with chloramphenicol, macrolides and tetracyclines.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter of productive animals for meat is allowed 14 days after the last injection of the drug. Slaughter products obtained from forcedly killed animals before the expiration of the period specified in the instructions can be used for feeding carnivores or for the production of meat and bone meal.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's closed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of Enroxil 10% solution for injection, subject to storage conditions, is 5 years from the date of production.
