DESCRIPTION

Enrostin is a complex antimicrobial drug for animals. In appearance, it is a solution for oral administration, during storage of which a slight turbidity is allowed, which disappears after shaking.

COMPOSITION

1 ml contains 106 IU of colistin sulfate and 100 mg of enrofloxacin, as well as auxiliary components benzyl alcohol, sodium metabisulfite, lactic acid and distilled water.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Colistin sulfate and enrofloxacin exhibit synergistic action against a wide range of pathogenic and opportunistic pathogenic strains: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia spp., Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Clostridium spp., Klebsiella spp. ., Mycoplasma mycoides, Bordetella spp., Campylobacter spp., Proteus spp., Haemophilus spp., Bacillus spp., Actinomyces spp., Corynebacterium spp., Pseudomonas spp., Neisseria spp., Aerobacter aerogenes. And Citrobacter spp. Colistin sulfate, which is part of the drug, is a cyclopeptide (polymyxins) that has a bactericidal effect by destroying the phospholipids of the cell wall of pathogenic microorganisms. Enrofloxacin belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and has the ability to inhibit the activity of the enzyme gyrase,

When administered orally, enrofloxacin is well and quickly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into most organs and tissues, and is excreted from the body mainly unchanged, mainly in the urine, only in small amounts with feces. Colistin sulfate is practically not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, does not accumulate in organs and tissues, and is excreted from the body mainly unchanged with feces. In terms of the degree of effect on the body, Enrostin is classified as a moderately hazardous substance and does not possess embryotoxic and teratogenic properties in recommended doses.

INDICATIONS

It is prescribed for calves, lambs, pigs and poultry for the treatment of respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, including colibacillosis, salmonellosis, streptococcosis, enteritis, hemophilia, mycoplasmosis, as well as mixed and secondary infections, the causative agents of which are sensitive to enrofloxacin and colistin sulfatin.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Enrostin is prescribed to animals individually orally, diluted with drinking water once a day for 3 - 5 days in the following doses: calves, lambs, pigs - at the rate of 0.3 ml per 1 kg of body weight, at a dilution of 1: 1.

In severe disease, the daily dose of the drug is increased to 0.5 ml per 1 kg of body weight.

Agricultural poultry (broilers, breeding poultry, replacement chickens, parent broiler herd and meat turkeys) are drunk at the rate of 1 ml of the drug per 1 liter of water.

During the treatment period, the bird should receive only water containing the drug. The solution with the drug is prepared daily in the amount calculated for the consumption of the bird during the day. With salmonellosis, mixed and chronic infections of birds, the course of treatment is extended to 5 - 7 days.

SIDE EFFECTS

In some cases, with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug or violation of the order of intake and dosing, the animal may experience allergic reactions, changes in appetite, diarrhea, vomiting and impaired coordination of movements. If these signs appear, the use of the drug should be discontinued, the animals are prescribed symptomatic and desensitizing therapy.

It is not allowed to use Enrostin in adult ruminants with developed cicatricial digestion, piglets weighing less than 20 kg, animals with severe disorders of the development of cartilage tissue, with severe diseases of the kidneys and liver, with lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by convulsions, as well as pregnant and lactating sows, laying hens due to the accumulation of enrofloxacin in eggs.

Simultaneous use with chloramphenicol, macrolides, tetracyclines, theophylline, polyester ionophores, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, drugs containing magnesium, aluminum and calcium cations, which, by binding to enrofloxacin, prevent its absorption, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the drug, is not allowed.
