DESCRIPTION
Enroflox 10% is a drug for the treatment of farm animals with diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology. Dosage form: injection solution. In appearance it is a transparent liquid of light yellow color.
COMPOSITION
The drug in 1 ml contains the active substance: enrofloxacin -100 mg, and as auxiliary substances: glacial acetic acid - 21 mg, benzyl alcohol - 7.8 mg, disodium edetate - 10 mg, potassium hydroxide - up to pH 11-11.2 and water for injection - up to 1 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Enroflox 10% injectable belongs to antibacterial drugs of the fluoroquinalone group.
Enrofloxacin, which is a part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of antibacterial and antimycoplasma action. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus hyicus, Streptococcus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bordetella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bordetella spp. ., Mycoplasma spp., Brucella canis, Actinobacillus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Haemophilus spp., Clostridium perfingens.
The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin is to inhibit the activity of the enzyme gyrase, which ensures DNA replication in the nucleus of a bacterial cell, which leads to the death of the microorganism.
After parenteral administration of the drug, enrofloxacin is well absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. Its maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 1.0-1.5 hours and is maintained at a therapeutic level for 24 hours. Enrofloxacin is excreted from the body mainly unchanged and in the form of a metabolite - ciprofloxacin, mainly in urine and bile.
Enroflox 10% injectable according to the degree of impact on the body according to GOST 12.1.007-76 belongs to the 3rd hazard class (moderately hazardous substances).
Simultaneous use of the drug with chloramphenicol, macrolides, tetracyclines, theophylline and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is not allowed.
INDICATIONS
Enroflox 10% injection is used in cattle, sheep, goats and pigs with colibacillosis, septicemia, salmonellosis, atrophic rhinitis, streptococcosis, bacterial and enzootic pneumonia, MMA syndrome, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal pathogens and other diseases of the genitourinary system which are sensitive to enrofloxacin.
APPLICATION
Apply to cattle, sheep and goats subcutaneously, and to piglets, gilts and sows intramuscularly once a day for three to five days, at a dose of 0.25 ml / 10 kg of animal weight (2.5 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of animal weight).
For salmonellosis and respiratory infections, Enroflox 10% injectable is prescribed once a day at a dose of 0.5 ml / 10 kg of animal weight (5.0 mg of enrofloxacin per 1 kg of animal weight) for five days.
In view of a possible painful reaction, Enroflox 10% injection should be administered in an amount of no more than 5 ml in one place for large animals and no more than 2.5 ml for small animals.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Skipping the next dose of the drug should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one dose is missed, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 14 days after the last use of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of the drug is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to fluoroquinolones. It is forbidden to use the drug in newborn animals, dairy cattle, due to the release of enrofloxacin in milk, animals with pronounced disorders of the development of cartilage tissue, with lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by convulsions; females during pregnancy, with severe lesions of the liver and kidneys, as well as with the isolation of a sick animal of microorganisms resistant to fluoroquinolones.
OVERDOSE
Overdose symptoms have not been identified in animals.
SIDE EFFECTS
As a rule, side effects and complications in animals when using the drug in accordance with this instruction are not observed. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic drugs are prescribed to the animal. In some cases, a short-term dysfunction of the gastrointestinal tract is possible. At the injection site, irritation may appear, which disappears spontaneously.
PRECAUTIONS
When working with a medicinal product, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicinal products. Do not drink, smoke or eat while working with the medicinal product. At the end of work, wash your face and hands thoroughly with soap and water.
People with hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones should avoid direct contact with the drug.
It is forbidden to use vials from a medicinal product for household purposes. Empty bottles are placed in a plastic bag and disposed of with household waste.
FIRST AID MEASURES
In case of accidental contact of the drug on the skin or mucous membranes, it must be washed off with running water and soap. In case of allergic reactions and / or accidental ingestion of the drug, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The medicinal product is stored in the manufacturer's closed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of manufacture. After the first opening of the bottle - within 28 days.
