Elevit pronatal tablets, No. 100

  • Prevention and treatment of hypovitaminosis,

  • lack of minerals and trace elements at the stage of pregnancy planning, during pregnancy, after childbirth and during breastfeeding.

Women at the planning stage of pregnancy, during pregnancy, after childbirth and during breastfeeding are recommended to take 1 tablet per day with meals, with a small amount of water.

Elevit Pronatal is a medicinal product containing 12 essential vitamins, 4 minerals and 3 trace elements. The quantitative content of vitamins and minerals corresponds to the doses that are recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Vitamin A (retinol) is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and ensures the normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, and the organ of vision.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) normalizes the activity of the heart and contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) promotes tissue regeneration processes, incl. skin cells.

Vitamin B5 (calcium pantothenate) is involved in the metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) helps to maintain the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums, and has an effect on erythropoiesis.

Vitamin B9 (folic acid) stimulates erythropoiesis, prevents the development of congenital defects in the fetus (neural tube defect).

Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is involved in erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.

B vitamins are involved in the formation of various enzymes that regulate different types of metabolism in the body.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is involved in the oxidation of a number of biologically active substances, regulation of metabolism in connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, and normalizes capillary permeability.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) plays an important role in maintaining the balance of calcium and phosphorus in a pregnant woman's body. Children with vitamin D deficiency develop rickets.

Biotin (vitamin H) takes part in metabolic processes, promotes protein absorption.

Side effect

Allergic reactions: urticaria, facial edema, skin flushing, rash, anaphylactic shock. If allergic reactions occur, you must stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

From the digestive system: abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.

From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, insomnia, irritability.

Others: hypercalciuria; staining of urine in a bright yellow color (due to the content of riboflavin in the preparation), staining of feces in black (due to the content of iron in the preparation) - these effects are harmless and have no clinical significance.

Contraindications for use

  • increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug;

  • hypervitaminosis of vitamin A;

  • vitamin D hypervitaminosis;

  • hypercalcemia;

  • hypercalciuria;

  • severe renal failure;

  • disorders of iron metabolism;

  • disorders of copper metabolism (Wilson's disease);

Application during pregnancy and lactation

There is no data on the effect of the drug on the speed of psychomotor reactions when driving a car and working with mechanisms.

Overdose

An overdose of the drug can cause hypervitaminosis of vitamins A and D, hypercalcemia, as well as an overdose of iron and copper. An overdose of vitamin C (more than 15 g) can cause hemolytic anemia in some patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.

Symptoms of acute overdose: sudden headache, confusion, gastrointestinal disorders (constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting).

Treatment: if symptoms of an overdose occur, the patient should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor. It is recommended to cancel the drug, gastric lavage, symptomatic therapy.

Drug interactions

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) enhances the action and side effects of antimicrobial agents from the sulfonamide group (including crystalluria).

Iron absorption may be impaired by the concomitant use of antacids, fluoroquinolones, bisphosphonates, levodopa, levothyroxine, penicillamine, trientine, or tetracycline antibiotics. If simultaneous use with one of these drugs is required, an interval of 2-3 hours should be observed between doses.

Drugs containing calcium, magnesium, iron, copper or zinc can interact with antacids, antibiotics (tetracycline groups, fluoroquinolones), levodopa, bisphosphonates, penicillamine, thyroxine, trientine, digitalis drugs, antiviral drugs, thiazide diuretics for treatment diseases associated with acidity disorders. If simultaneous use with such drugs is required, an interval of 2 hours should be observed between doses.
