Vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis caused by fungi of the genus Candida.
Suppositories, previously released from the contour packaging, are inserted into the vagina, being in the supine position, as deep as possible, 1 time / day at night.
For candidal vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis , 1 supp is used intravaginally. within 3-6 days.
With a persistent course of vaginitis caused by Candida albicans , natamycin is additionally prescribed in the form of tablets for oral administration: 1 tab. 4 times / day for 10-20 days to sanitize the focus of candidal infection in the intestine.
The duration of the course of treatment is set individually. After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease, it is recommended to continue treatment for several more days.
During menstruation, the use of suppositories is interrupted.

pharmachologic effect
Natamycin is an antifungal polyene antibiotic from the macrolide group with a wide spectrum of action. Has a fungicidal effect. It binds to sterols of cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and function, which leads to the death of microorganisms.
It is active against most pathogenic yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans), yeast (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula), as well as other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium). Less active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton). Does not affect in vitro gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Resistance to natamycin does not occur in clinical practice.
Pharmacokinetics
EcofucinЃ does not have a systemic effect, because practically not absorbed through intact skin and intact mucous membranes.

During the period of treatment, there is no need to exclude sexual intercourse, however, it is recommended to examine the sexual partners and, if candidal lesions are detected, to conduct a course of treatment with natamycin. During the period of treatment, barrier methods of contraception should be used.

Overdose
Currently, no cases of an overdose of EkofucinЃ have been reported.
