DESCRIPTION

E-Selenium is a drug in the form of a complex of vitamin E and selenium in an injectable form for the treatment and prevention of diseases caused by a deficiency of vitamin E and selenium in the body of animals. The drug in appearance is a transparent, colorless or slightly yellow liquid, opalescent in transmitted light.

COMPOSITION

1 ml of the drug contains as active ingredients: selenium (in the form of sodium selenite) - 0.5 mg and vitamin E - 50 mg, as well as auxiliary substances: polyethylene-35-ricinol, benzyl alcohol and water for injection - up to 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Vitamin E regulates redox processes and affects carbohydrate-fat metabolism, enhances the effect of vitamins A and D ?, affects the state of immunity, the general resistance of the body. The biological role of selenium is related to its antioxidant properties. It helps to eliminate toxic substances from the body, to increase the immunity of animals.

The introduction of the drug into the body leads to a rapid increase in the level of vitamin E and selenium in the body of animals, the normalization of metabolic processes.

INDICATIONS

The drug E-selenium is used for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by a lack of vitamin E and selenium (white muscle disease, traumatic myositis and cardiopathy, toxic liver dystrophy), as well as in stress and stress situations, impaired reproduction and fetal development, growth retardation and insufficient weight gain , infectious and invasive diseases, preventive vaccinations and deworming, poisoning with nitrates, heavy metals and mycotoxins.

APPLICATION

The drug is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously to animals (horses only intramuscularly) for prophylactic purposes 1 time in 2-4 months, with a therapeutic purpose 1 time in 7-10 days 2-3 times in a dose: for adult animals: 1 ml / 50 kg of body weight; young farm animals 0.2 ml / 10 kg of body weight; dogs, cats, fur animals: 0.04 ml / 1 kg of body weight.

For the convenience of administering small volumes of the drug, it can be diluted with sterile water or saline and mixed thoroughly.

For poultry, the drug is used with drinking water at a dilution of 1: 100 at a dose of 1 ml / kg of body weight or 2 ml / l of consumed water: for prophylactic purposes, for chickens starting from one day of age 1 time in 2-3 weeks, for young and adult birds - 1 time per month; with therapeutic 2-3 times with an interval of 1-2 weeks. The therapeutic dose can be increased 1.5 times, and in regions deficient in selenium content - up to 5 times.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to use is the individual hypersensitivity of animals to selenium, or an excessive content of selenium in feed and the body (alkaline disease).

In case of an overdose in animals, ataxia, dyspnoea, anorexia, abdominal pain (grinding teeth), salivation, cyanosis of visible mucous membranes, and sometimes skin, tachycardia are noted, sweating increases, body temperature decreases. Exhaled air of garlic smell and the same smell of skin. In ruminants - hypotension and atony of the proventriculus. In pigs, dogs and cats - vomiting, pulmonary edema.

There are no specific antidotes. Inside, set sodium arsenite 0.01 g / kg (once) in an aqueous solution, methionine. Intravenous - sodium thiosulfate, glucose solution. To normalize liver function, glutamic acid, essentialle, vitamins are prescribed: B? and B ?. Prescribe drugs containing butaphosphamide and carnitine as hepatoprotectors and antioxidants. Unithiol, dicaptol and EDTA are not used: the selenium chelate complex is more toxic than selenium itself.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE

Shelf life, subject to storage conditions - 2 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle - 14 days. Store the medicinal product in a sealed manufacturer's packaging separately from food and feed, in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 4 В° C to 25 В° C.
