Pharmacological action

Arthroker is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). After oral administration, diacerein is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract and completely deacetylated to rhein. The concomitant use of the drug with food increases bioavailability by 25%. Cmax rhein in plasma is reached after 1.44 minutes. T1 / 2 from plasma is 255 min. The relationship of rhein with albumin is almost 100%. With a single dose of 50 mg, Cmax reaches 3.15 mg / L. With repeated administration of the drug, Cmax increases due to the accumulation of the drug. Rhein is excreted by the kidneys unchanged (20%) and in the form of glucuronide (60%) and sulfate (20%). Rhein crosses the placental barrier and the BBB.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the components of the drug Arthroker or high sensitivity to anthraquinone drugs (for example, laxatives). Children's age (up to 18 years). Pregnancy, lactation. Special instructions

The duration of treatment, depending on the result, can be long. In the period preceding the development of the therapeutic effect, Arthroker can be taken simultaneously with non-narcotic analgesics and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Periodic monitoring of blood counts, activity of liver enzymes, urine is necessary. If kidney function worsens, the doctor must decide to reduce the dose or cancel it.

Dosage and administration

Standard dose: 1 capsule 2 times a day (morning and evening, after meals). Capsules should be swallowed whole without chewing, and drink it with water. The effect of treatment should be expected in 2-4 weeks. Arthroker is used continuously for a long time or in courses lasting at least 4 months. The duration of the break between courses of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Side effects of

With increased sensitivity to the components of the drug, allergic reactions of varying degrees, rash, itching, can be noted. In the initial period of taking the drug, phenomena from the digestive system may temporarily take place: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. In this case, the dose should be reduced to 1 capsule per day.

Intensive staining of urine from yellow to brown (depending on pH) may occur, which does not require a dose reduction (withdrawal) of the drug.

Drug Interactions

Artroker is not recommended for use with drugs affecting the consistency of the contents of the intestine (for example, a large amount of fiber).

Antacids reduce the absorption of the drug. When taken with antibiotics or chemotherapeutic drugs that affect the intestinal microflora, the frequency of adverse events from the intestine may increase.

Overdose

With an overdose, diarrhea and weakness are possible. In case of overdose or accidental medication by children, you must consult a doctor. The treatment is symptomatic.
