Indications

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to the active substance (drotaverine hydrochloride) or to any of the auxiliary components of

severe hepatic or renal failure,

severe heart failure (low cardiac output syndrome),

AV block II and III degree,

cardiogenic shock,

arterial hypotension,

children under 12 years of age.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Use with caution in pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Composition

1 ml injection contains 20 mg drotaverine hydrochloride.

Dosage and administration of

The drug is intended for intramuscular, subcutaneous, intravenous administration.

Adults and children over 12 years of age, the average daily dose is 40-240 mg, divided into 1-3 intramuscular or subcutaneous injection of 2-4 ml of 2% solution.

In acute hepatic and / or hepatic colic, the drug is administered slowly intravenously in doses of 40-80 mg (2-4 ml of a 2% solution).

In case of peripheral circulation disorders (obliterating endarteritis, Raynaud's disease) intra-arterial administration is allowed (slowly!).

To shorten the opening phase of the cervix during physiological delivery at the beginning of the stretching period of drotaverine, the hydrochloride is administered intramuscularly in a dose of 40 mg once, with an unsatisfactory effect, it is repeated, once, for 2 hours.

Side effects

decrease in blood pressure,

sensation of heat,

sweating,

allergic skin reactions.

Drug Interaction

Increases the effect of other antispasmodics (including M-cholin blockers), hypotension caused by tricyclic antidepressants, quinidine, procainamide.

Reduces spasmogenic morphine activity, antiparkinsonian properties of levodopa (tremor and rigidity increase).

Reliability of the spasm elimination increases phenobarbital.

Overdose

Symptoms: collapse, atrioventricular blockade, cardiac arrest, respiratory center paralysis.

Treatment: symptomatic therapy (no specific antidote).

Storage conditions
