Pharmacological action
Antispasmodic myotropic action. In terms of chemical structure and pharmacological properties, it is close to papaverine, however, it surpasses it in efficiency and duration of action. Reduces the tone of the smooth muscles of internal organs, reduces their motor activity. It has a vasodilating effect.

Indications
- smooth muscle spasms associated with diseases of the biliary tract (cholecystolithiasis, cholangiolithiasis, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, papillitis)
- smooth muscle spasms of the urinary tract (nephrolithiasis, pyrrhitis, pyrrititis, bladder tenesmus).
As adjuvant therapy:
- for spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract (peptic ulcer, gastritis, cardia and pyloric spasms, enteritis, colitis, spastic colitis with constipation and mucous colitis with flatulence) - srdlp
- for gynecological diseases (dysmenorrhea).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the components of the drug, severe renal or hepatic failure, severe heart failure (low cardiac output syndrome), lactation, children under 18 years of age. Should not be taken by people suffering from lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Special instructions
In the treatment of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, it is used in combination with other antiulcer drugs.
Composition
Composition:
Active ingredient: drotaverine hydrochloride - 40 mg.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate (milk sugar) - 63 mg, potato starch - 32 mg, magnesium stearate -1 mg, talc - 3 mg, water-soluble methyl cellulose - 1 mg.
Dosage and administration
Inside. Adults 40 -80 mg (1-2 tablets) 2-3 times a day
Side effects
Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, constipation), disorders of the nervous system (headache, dizziness, insomnia), cardiovascular disorders (heart palpitations, arterial hypotension), allergic reactions (including allergic dermatosis).
Overdose
Atrioventricular block, cardiac arrest, respiratory center paralysis.
Treatment: drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy. There is no specific antidote.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place. Keep out of the reach of children.
