DESCRIPTION

Fiprist Spot-On for dogs weighing 2-10 kg is a drug for combating arachno-entomoses. In appearance, the drug is a clear solution with a weak specific odor for external and local use.

COMPOSITION

The drug contains 10% fipronil as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary components: povidone, polysorbate, butylhydroxyanazole, butylhydrotoluene and dimethylsulfoxide.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insect-acaricide from the phenylpyrazole group, poorly soluble in water. It blocks the GABA-dependent receptors of the parasite, disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses in arthropods, but does not have such an effect on the GABA receptors of mammals.

When applied to the skin of an animal, the drug is practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation and during the day it is evenly distributed over the surface of the body, accumulating in the sebaceous glands of the skin and thus protecting domestic animals from ectoparasites. INDICATIONS

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

For the treatment of otodectosis (ear scabies) in animals, the ear canal is cleaned of crusts and scabs in a dry way, without the use of special hygiene products and ear lotions. The drug is instilled into both ears, 4-6 drops, even if only one ear is affected. For even distribution of the drug, the auricle is folded in half and its base is lightly massaged, and the remainder of the drug can be applied to the skin between the shoulder blades. Processing is carried out once. In advanced cases of otodectosis complicated by otitis media, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed.

The drug can be used in pregnant and lactating females. It is allowed to wash animals with shampoo or swim in natural waters no earlier than 2 days after treatment.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When carrying out medical and preventive measures using the drug, it is recommended to use rubber gloves. Smoking, drinking and eating are not allowed during work. At the end of work, you should thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and soap.

For 24 hours after treatment, the animal should not be stroked or allowed near small children.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Increased individual sensitivity to drug components. Puppies younger than 8 weeks of age, weakened and sick animals should not be processed. For the treatment of otodectosis in cases of perforation of the tympanic membrane, it is prohibited to use the drug.

SIDE EFFECTS

In hypersensitive animals, in rare cases, allergic reactions are possible. In such cases, the use of the drug is stopped, and its remnants on the skin are removed with a cotton swab and washed with water, if necessary, desensitizing therapy is prescribed.
