DESCRIPTION

DrontalВ® plus is an anthelmintic drug. DrontalВ® plus is available in the form of meat-flavored bone-shaped tablets. The active ingredients are: pyrantel embonate - 144 mg, praziquantel - 50 mg and febantel - 150 mg.

INDICATIONS

DrontalВ® plus is prescribed to dogs with prophylactic and therapeutic purposes in case of nematodes (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trihuris vulpis) and cestodoses (Echinococcus multilocularis, Tappice spp. ) and giardiosis / giardiasis (Giardia spp.).

APPLICATION

For therapeutic purposes, animals are deworming according to indications, for prophylactic purposes - on a quarterly basis in a therapeutic dose.

In the treatment of giardiasis, the drug is used in the recommended dosages for 3 consecutive days.

DrontalВ® plus can be used in puppies from 2 weeks of age and weighing more than 2 kg. The drug is approved for use during lactation. Thanks to the flavoring, the drug is well eaten by dogs.

DrontalВ® plus is convenient to dose, it is prescribed for dogs at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The action of febantel leads to disruption of muscle innervation, paralysis, death of nematodes and contributes to its elimination from the gastrointestinal tract.

The action of pyrantel embonate leads to irreversible paralysis and muscle contracture in nematodes, which kills the parasite and promotes its elimination from the gastrointestinal tract. The action of praziquantel leads to disruption of muscle innervation, paralysis and death of cestodes.

EFFICIENCY

Febantel and pyrantel embonate, which are part of the drug, possessing a synergistic effect, have a pronounced antiparasitic effect. DrontalВ® plus has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action on round, tapeworms and protozoa of the genus Giardia parasitizing in dogs.

POSSIBLE INDIVIDUAL REACTIONS

Pirantel embonate and febantel are partially absorbed in the intestine and excreted mainly in feces within 24 to 48 hours. Praziquantel is excreted in the urine mainly in a metabolized form.

The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 5 years from the date of production.
