DESCRIPTION

DrontalВ® plus is an anthelmintic drug. Drontal Plus comes in the form of meat-flavored bone-shaped tablets.

ADVANTAGES

Febantel and pyrantel embonate, which are part of the drug, possessing a synergistic effect, have a pronounced antiparasitic effect.

DrontalВ® plus has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action on round, tapeworms and protozoa of the genus Giardia parasitizing in dogs.

COMPOSITION

Pirantel embonate 144 mg, praziquantel 50 mg and febantel 150 mg.

INDICATIONS

DrontalВ® plus is prescribed to dogs with prophylactic and therapeutic purposes in case of nematodes (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trihuris vulpis) and cestodoses (Echinococcus multilocularis, Tappice spp. ) and giardiosis / giardiasis (Giardia spp.).

PHARMOCOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Drontal Plus belongs to the group of combined anthelmintic drugs.

Drontal Plus has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action on round, tapeworms and protozoa of the genus Giardia, parasitizing in dogs, including Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trihcus vulpis, Dipinococcus spp. Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides spp., Giardia spp.

The mechanism of action of febantel, which is part of the drug, is based on impaired glucose transport and microtubular function of the parasite, inhibition of fumarate reductase and ATP synthesis, increased permeability of cell membranes, which leads to disruption of muscle innervation, paralysis, death of the parasite and contributes to its elimination from the gastrointestinal path.

Pirantel embonate has a pronounced nematodicidal effect, causing an increase in the permeability of cell membranes, irreversible paralysis and muscle contracture in nematodes, which leads to the death of the parasite and promotes its elimination from the gastrointestinal tract.

Pirantel embonate and febantel are partially absorbed in the intestine and excreted mainly in feces within 24 to 48 hours.

The mechanism of action of praziquantel consists in depolarization of neuromuscular ganglion blockers, impaired glucose transport and microturbular function in cestodes, which leads to impaired muscle innervation, paralysis and death of the parasite. Praziquantel is rapidly absorbed in the intestine and distributed in internal organs and tissues; excreted in the urine mainly in metabolized form.

Drontal Plus in terms of the degree of impact on the body refers to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have embryotoxic, teratogenic and sensitizing effects. Well tolerated by dogs of different breeds and ages.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

For therapeutic purposes, animals are deworming according to indications, for prophylactic purposes - on a quarterly basis in a therapeutic dose.

In the treatment of giardiasis, the drug is used in the recommended dosages for 3 consecutive days.

DrontalВ® plus can be used in puppies from 2 weeks of age and weighing more than 2 kg. The drug is approved for use during lactation. Thanks to the flavoring, the drug is well eaten by dogs.

DrontalВ® plus is convenient to dose, it is prescribed for dogs at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight.

SIDE EFFECTS

With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, increased salivation, diarrhea or vomiting are possible. These symptoms are short-term, spontaneously disappear and do not require the use of drugs.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

With precautions according to list B. In a place protected from light and moisture, out of reach of children and animals, at temperatures from 0 to 25 В° C. The shelf life is 5 years.
