Doxilox 100ml
DESCRIPTION
An antibacterial preparation in the form of a solution for injection, intended for the treatment of cattle, sheep and pigs with diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology. The drug is released in packaged 100 ml in hermetically sealed vials. In appearance, the drug is a transparent, slightly viscous brown liquid.
ADVANTAGES

The lack of accumulation of the drug in the blood leads to good animal tolerance.

COMPOSITION
1 ml contains doxycycline hyclate - 200 mg, as well as auxiliary components providing prolonged action.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Doxycycline hyclate, which is part of the drug, belongs to the semi-synthetic antibiotics of the third generation of the tetracycline group, is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, incl. Escherichia coli., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Leptospira spp., Chlamidia spp., Clostridium perfringens, Listeria monocytogenes, Corynebacterium pyogenes; and also Mycoplasma spp. The mechanism of the bacteriostatic action of doxycycline is associated with inhibition of enzymes that catalyze the binding of aminoacetylRNA to ribosomal acceptors, which leads to blocking the interaction of aminoacyltransport RNA with messenger RNA and disruption of microbial cell protein synthesis. After parenteral administration of the drug, doxycycline is well and quickly absorbed from the injection site, reaching therapeutic concentrations in 0.5-1 hour; easily penetrates into most organs and tissues of the animal, is metabolized in the liver with the formation of inactive metabolites. It is excreted from the body mainly in bile and partially in urine. DoxiloxВ®, in terms of the degree of its effect on the body, is classified as a moderately hazardous substance.
INDICATIONS
DoxiloxВ® is prescribed to cattle, sheep and pigs with a therapeutic purpose for infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to doxycycline, including colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, porcine enzootic pneumonia, chlamydia and other diseases of bacterial and mycoplasma etiology.
APPLICATION
The drug is administered to animals intramuscularly once in the following doses:
cattle and sheep - 1.0 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (20 mg a.i. / kg);
pigs - 0.5 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (10 mg ai / kg).
If necessary, the injection of the drug can be repeated after 48 hours. Due to a possible painful reaction when the drug is administered in a volume exceeding 2.5 ml for piglets and lambs, 5 ml for adult pigs, sheep and calves, for cattle 10 ml, it should be applied to the animal fractionally at different injection sites.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It is not allowed to use the drug simultaneously with antibiotics of the penicillin and cephalosporin groups, as well as calcium preparations (Ringer's solution, various serums) due to a possible decrease in its activity. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.
LIMITATIONS
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 21 days after the last application of DoxiloxВ®. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used as feed for fur animals.
SHELF LIFE
If stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C - 2 years from the date of production.
