DESCRIPTION

COMPOSITION

One tablet of the drug Doxifin 100mg contains 100.0mg of doxycycline hydrochloride and a filler up to 500.0 mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Doxycycline hydrochloride, which is part of the drug, belongs to the semi-synthetic derivatives of oxytetracycline, has bacteriostatic action against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, such as: Actynomyces spp., Clostridium spp., Listeria spp., Staphylococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. , Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Fusobacterium spp., Pasteurella spp., P1oteus spp., Leptospira spp., Mycoplasma spp., Chlamydia spp., Rickettsia spp., As well as Erlichia spp. and Babesia spp.

The mechanism of action of the drug is to suppress the synthesis of proteins of the pathogen due to the blockade of binding of transport RNA with ribosomal complexes of messenger RNA.

After oral administration, doxycycline is rapidly absorbed, and maximum plasma concentrations are reached after 3 hours. The bioavailability of doxycycline with repeated oral administration of the drug is about 45%.

Doxycycline is excreted unchanged in feces and urine. The average half-life is 8 hours.

PURPOSE

The drug is used to treat dogs and cats with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, kidneys and urinary tract, dermatitis, ehrlichiosis, babesiosis, as well as associated infections caused by pathogens sensitive to doxycycline.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

The drug is administered orally at a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal body weight (10 mg doxycycline per kg of animal body weight), once a day for seven consecutive days. With ehrlichiosis in dogs, the duration of the drug is 28 days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When using the drug, vomiting may occur, and the administration of the drug during the development of the teeth can lead to a change in the color of the tooth enamel.

When using doxifin 100 mg, it is not recommended to administer preparations containing calcium ions within two hours before and after its introduction into the body.

The drug can reduce the activity of prothrombin in plasma, and for animals treated with anticoagulants, it is necessary to select the dose of the drug individually. Doxifin should not be used in conjunction with penicillins or cephalosporins due to a decrease in antimicrobial activity.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in pregnant women and animals with hypersensitivity to tetracyclines and liver disease.

The drug is stored according to list B, in the original packaging of the manufacturer, at temperatures from plus 15 В° C to plus 30 В° C, in a cool, dry, dark place out of the reach of children and pets.
