DESCRIPTION
Dixam (Diksam) - a medicinal product in the form of tablets for the treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases of farm animals. In appearance, it is a cylindrical tablet with a diameter of 18-20 mm without cracks and delamination, from light brown to black.
COMPOSITION
Dixam in the form of tablets in 1 tablet contains iodine as an active ingredient - 38%, and as auxiliary components (up to 100%) - starch, potassium nitrate, talc. Tablet weight - 1Og.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Dixam in tablet form is an antiseptic.
Iodine, which is a part of the drug Dixam in the form of tablets, has a wide spectrum of action against pathogens of bactericidal, viral and fungal etiology. Iodine vapors, which are formed during thermal sublimation, have a high penetrating ability and sanitizing effect.
Dixam in the form of tablets has an active antimicrobial effect against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella gallinarum pullorum, Salmonella enteritidis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Campylobacter jejuni, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, perfus, cerestia fungi) action , Candid allicans, Aspergillus fumigatus, etc.), virucidal action (including the H5Nl avian influenza virus).
According to the degree of impact on the body, Dixam in the form of tablets belongs to highly hazardous substances (hazard class 2 according to GOST 12.1.007-76). In recommended doses, it does not have a local irritant and sensitizing effect.
PURPOSE
Dixam in the form of tablets is used for the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases of cattle and small cattle, pigs, agricultural poultry of bacterial, viral or fungal etiology: infectious bronchitis, avian influenza, infectious rhinotracheitis, rhinitis, bronchopneumonia, aspergillosis, laryngotracheitis and other mixed viral - bacterial infections.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
The treatment of premises with the drug Dixam in the form of tablets is carried out in the presence of animals at a room temperature of at least 15 В° C and a relative humidity of at least 60%. Before processing, the room is sealed (close windows, doors, turn off ventilation). When carrying out the treatment, the estimated amount of the drug Dixam in the form of tablets is placed in several places on the floor surface, on non-combustible supports (brick, concrete, etc.) up to 10 tablets in one place. Ignite with a flame source. Burning time for 1 tablet is 10-12 seconds. On combustion, light brown to purple iodine vapors are formed. The uniform distribution of vapors throughout the volume of the room occurs due to convection air flows or internal forced circulation. After the expiry of the exposure time, windows and doors are opened, ventilation is turned on.
Respiratory diseases are treated according to the following schemes:
a) the processing of animals is carried out once every 2 days. The iodine vapor concentration should be 20 mg / m3. To achieve the indicated concentration, Dixam in the form of tablets is used at the rate of 1 tablet per 190 m3. In total, 3-4 treatments are carried out. Exposure 20-30 min.
6) processing is carried out once a day for 7 consecutive days. The concentration of iodine vapors should be 1 O mg / m3 (or 1 tablet per 380 m3), followed by a three-day break. Exposure 30 min.
2-3 courses of treatment can be carried out per month.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
In case of an overdose, irritation of the upper respiratory tract, cough, runny nose, watery eyes are possible. When these symptoms appear in animals, the treatment should be stopped, turn on ventilation, open doors and windows.

If the established terms of repeated treatments are not observed, the use of the drug should be resumed according to the same scheme in the same dosage.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of the drug Dixam in the form of tablets is the hyperfunction of the thyroid gland, as well as the individual hypersensitivity of animals to the components of the drug.
It is not recommended to use Dixam in the form of tablets for pregnant and lactating animals, as well as newborn animals, since the safety of using the drug in these groups of animals has not been studied.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
