Possibility of tasks with water and feed
Broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity
COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE
A complex antibacterial preparation containing 100 mg of sulfadimezine and 20 mg of trimethoprim as active substances in 1 g, as well as auxiliary components of calcium stearate and lactose (or sucrose). The interaction of these components helps to expand the antibacterial spectrum of the drug. The spectrum of action of the drug covers gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including E. coli, Clostridium spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Bacillus anthracis, Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp., Vibrio spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus. spp., Shigella spp., Corynebacterium spp., Klebsiella spp., Fusobacterium spp., Bordetella spp., Brucella spp.). After oral administration, Ditrim powder is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into the organs and tissues of the animal's body, reaching maximum concentration in 2 - 3 hours after administration. The antibacterial effect is maintained throughout the day. Ditrim powder, according to the degree of effect on the body of warm-blooded animals, refers to moderately hazardous substances, in the recommended doses it does not have a sensitizing, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic effect. It is excreted from the body mainly with urine and feces.
INDICATIONS
Assign to calves, foals, lambs, piglets and dogs for the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
Ditrim powder is mixed with feed or suspended in a small amount of water, milk or its substitute and administered to the animals individually once a day at the rate of: on the first day of treatment - 5 g per 10 kg of animal weight, on the following days of treatment - 2.5 g per 10 kg of animal weight. The course of treatment is 3 - 5 days. In severe cases of the disease, treatment continues for up to 7 days.
SIDE EFFECTS
With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the appearance of side effects (refusal to feed, vomiting), the use of ditrim is stopped.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to sulfa drugs, dysfunction of the hematopoietic organs, liver and kidney disease. It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy. During treatment with ditrim, the use of n-aminobenzoic acid preparations is prohibited - novocaine (procaine), anesthesin (benzocaine).
