DESCRIPTION

Diastop is an antibacterial drug for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases of bacterial etiology in piglets and calves. Preparative form: powder for oral administration, is a multicomponent mixture.

Contents of the package No. 1 is a homogeneous powder of light yellow color with a greenish tint, soluble in warm water.

The contents of the package No. 2 is a hygroscopic white or slightly yellowish powder, soluble in warm water.

COMPOSITION

Package No. 1 contains: dioxidine - 1.0 g, norfloxacin hydrochloride - 1.0 g, sodium chloride - 5.0 g, potassium chloride - 0.2 g, glucose - 18.0 g.

Package No. 2 contains: low molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone - 24.8g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Norfloxacin is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Mycoplasma.

Dioxidine is effective against gram-negative, gram-positive pathogenic and opportunistic aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms of spore-forming and non-spore-forming species.

The drug is active against microorganisms with low sensitivity and resistance to antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic agents. Sodium and potassium chlorides normalize the water-salt balance. Glucose is a source of energy material easily assimilated by the body, increasing the body's resistance and improving its functions. Polyvinylpyrrolidone helps to remove toxins from the gastrointestinal tract and the body as a whole.

The maximum concentration of the active substances of Diastopa-AF in the blood is reached after 1-3 hours and is maintained at a therapeutic level for 24 hours. Excreted from the body mainly in the urine.

According to the degree of impact on the body, Diastop, according to GOST 12.1.007, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4).

Diastop is incompatible with antibiotics from the groups of chloramphenicol, macrolides and tetracyclines.

INDICATIONS

The drug is prescribed to calves and piglets for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases of bacterial etiology.

APPLICATION

Before use, the contents of packages No. 1 and No. 2 are dissolved in 1 liter of warm (37 В° C - 38 В° C) drinking water. The medicinal solution is prepared immediately before use and immediately used. Diastop's solution is administered individually orally at a dose of 10 ml / kg of body weight daily, 2 times a day with an interval of 12 hours for 3 days. In severe cases of the disease on the first day, the drug is drunk in a double dose.

SIDE EFFECTS

With proper use and dosage, side effects and complications are usually not observed. In the event of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and desensitizing therapy is performed.

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 5 days after the last injection of Diastop. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding carnivores or for the production of meat and bone meal.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, including the history. It is forbidden to use Diastop-AF simultaneously with bacteriostatic antibiotics (chloramphenicol, macrolides and tetracyclines) and nitrofurans, due to a possible decrease in antibacterial activity, as well as with theophylline and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

STORAGE

Diastop is stored with caution in a dry, protected from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and animals. Separated from food and feed at temperatures from 5 В° C to 20 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture. It is forbidden to use the drug after its expiration date.
