Dehinel Plus Meat Flavored Tablets 10 Tablets
DESCRIPTION
Dehinel Plus - tablets for oral use for the treatment and prevention of helminthiasis in dogs. In appearance, the drug is a round yellow tablet with dark blotches, with beveled edges and a cross-shaped notch on one side.
COMPOSITION
The drug as active ingredients in 1 tablet contains: febantel - 150 mg, pyrantela embonate - 144 mg, praziquantel - 50 mg and auxiliary substances: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone K30, sodium lauryl sulfate, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon colloidal stearate, , Aroma Meat Flavor 10022.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Dehinel Plus, thanks to its active ingredients, has antiparasitic activity against cestodes: Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Diphyllobothrium latum, Dipylidium caninum, Multiceps multiceps, Taenia spp. and nematodes: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria spp., Ancylostoma spp., Trichuris vulpis. Febantel, moderately absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, causes inhibition of tubulin protein synthesis and glucose intake in nematodes, while inhibiting fumarate reductase, an enzyme responsible for the energy metabolism of helminths.
Pirantel embonate is very poorly absorbed when administered orally and therefore exerts its effect directly on the surface of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract of a sick dog. It blocks neuromuscular impulse transmission in nematodes and causes paralysis of the helminth muscles, so the parasites are easily removed from the host's gastrointestinal tract.
Praziquantel is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and has a detrimental effect on cestodes (tapeworms) by increasing the permeability of cell membranes of parasites for calcium ions and inhibition of fumarate reductase, which causes a spastic contraction of the parasite's muscles, turning into paralysis. Praziquantel is excreted unchanged in the bile.
Dehinel Plus, according to the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, belongs to low-hazard substances and does not have a sensitizing and hepatotoxic effect in recommended doses.
INDICATIONS
Dehinel Plus meat-flavored tablets are used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes in dogs with nematodes (toxocariasis, toxascariasis, uicinariasis, hookworm disease, trichocephalosis) and cestodosis (teniidoses, dipylidiosis, echinococcosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocytosis).
