Pharmacological action
Cromohexal eye drops - anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory drug.
Mast cell membrane stabilizer. It blocks the entry of ions into the mast cell, preventing its degranulation and the release of mediators of allergies and inflammation (histamine, bradykinin, prostaglandins, leukotrienes and other biologically active substances). Prevents the manifestation of allergic reactions of an immediate type.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of acute and chronic allergic keratoconjunctivitis (hay fever, spring keratoconjunctivitis).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cromoglicic acid and other components of the drug CromoHexal.
Special instructions
When using contact lenses, allergic inflammation of the conjunctiva is possible, in this case, consult your doctor about the possibility of wearing contact lenses.
If contact lenses can be worn, lenses should be removed and put on after 15 minutes before instilling the drug.
Composition
Active ingredient: disodium salt of cromoglicic acid.
Other components: benzalkonium chloride, EDTA, sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, sorbitol, water for injection.
Dosage and administration
In the absence of other prescriptions, it is recommended that adults and children instill 1 drop in each eye 4 times a day.
CromoHEXAL should be instilled in the conjunctival sac. The head is tilted slightly back, the lower eyelid is pulled, look up and drip drops without touching the eye. After use, the vial is immediately closed.
Even with the disappearance of complaints, KromoHEXAL should be used while there is contact with allergizing factors (house dust, fungal spores, pollen). The need for long-term therapy is determined by the doctor.
Side effects
Rarely there may be sensation of heat in the eyes, swelling of the conjunctiva (chemosis), sensation of a foreign body, increased blood supply to the conjunctiva (conjunctival hyperemia), as well as a short-term violation of the clarity of vision.
All side effects usually spontaneously disappear. If you have complaints not listed above, you should consult your doctor.
