Concentrated inactivated vaccine against equine leptospirosis in the form of GOA liquid (1 dose) 2ml
DESCRIPTION
Vaccine for the prevention of equine leptospirosis. It is a clear, colorless or slightly opalescent liquid from colorless to slightly yellowish, with a gray-white sediment at the bottom of the bottle. The precipitate breaks up when shaken, forming a slowly settling homogeneous suspension.
COMPOSITION
The vaccine is made from selected inactivated strains of Leptospira from five serological groups Pomona, Tarassovi, Icterohaemorrhagiae, Grippotyphosa and Canicola, mixed with an adjuvant.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The vaccine, with a single intramuscular injection, induces the formation of active immunity against leptospirosis, which in vaccinated animals occurs 2 to 3 weeks after vaccination and continues in young animals for 6 to 8 months, and in adult animals - 12 to 15 months. The vaccine is harmless and areactogenic, has no medicinal properties.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
The vaccine is used in dysfunctional and threatened leptospirosis farms, when grazing animals in the area of the natural focus of leptospirosis, when animals are detected in farms, whose blood serum reacts to leptospirosis in a microagglutination reaction (PMA). Only clinically healthy horses should be vaccinated. Before use and during vaccination, the vials with the vaccine must be shaken to maintain a homogeneous suspension, excluding the precipitation of vaccine components. In the presence of an insignificant non-breaking sediment, the vaccine is shaken in a vial with a syringe until a uniform homogeneous suspension is obtained. Horses are vaccinated at the age of 1.5 months and older. Vaccination is carried out in compliance with the generally accepted rules of asepsis and antiseptics. A separate sterile needle is used for each animal.

In order to prevent abortions of leptospirotic etiology, horses are vaccinated before mating or in the first third of pregnancy. In order to form colostral immunity in young animals, it is recommended to vaccinate pregnant mares 1.5 - 3 months before giving birth.
