Respiratory tract diseases with the formation of viscous sputum:

- acute and chronic bronchitis;

-pneumonia;

-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;

- bronchiectasis.

Inside, during meals, with a little water.

Children from 2 to 6 years old - 2.5 ml of elixir 3 times a day; from 6 to 12 years old - 5 ml 3 times a day; adults and children over 12 years old - 10 ml 4 times a day.

The maximum duration of treatment without consulting a doctor is 5 days.

active substances:

ambroxol hydrochloride 10 mg

trisodium salt of glycyrrhizic acid (sodium glycyrrhizinate) 30 mg

thyme extract liquid 500 mg

excipients: methyl parahydroxybenzoate (nipagin) - 3.75 mg; propyl parahydroxybenzoate (nipazole) - 1.25 mg; sorbitol (sorbitol) - 3000 mg; purified water - up to 5 ml

pharmachologic effect

Combined expectorant drug. It has mucolytic and expectorant effects, and also has anti-inflammatory activity. The action of the elixir CodelacЃ Broncho with thyme is due to the pharmacological properties of its components.

Ambroxol has a secretomotor, secretolytic and expectorant effect, normalizes the impaired ratio of serous and mucous components of sputum, increases the secretion of surfactant in the alveoli. Reduces the viscosity of phlegm and promotes its discharge.

Sodium glycyrrhizinate has anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects. It has a cytoprotective effect due to its antioxidant and membrane stabilizing activity. Strengthens the action of endogenous glucocorticoids, providing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. Due to its pronounced anti-inflammatory activity, it helps to reduce the inflammatory process in the respiratory tract.

Thyme herb extract contains a blend of essential oils with expectorant and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, this extract has weak antispasmodic and reparative properties.

Side effect

From the digestive system: rarely - diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation; with long-term use in high doses - gastralgia, nausea, vomiting.

From the respiratory system: dryness of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, rhinorrhea.

Others: allergic reactions; rarely - weakness, headache, dysuria, exanthema.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is contraindicated.

Application for violations of liver function

The drug should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.

Application for impaired renal function

The drug should be used with caution in patients with renal insufficiency.

Application in children

Contraindicated for use in children under 2 years of age.

special instructions

Do not combine with antitussives.

In patients with diabetes mellitus, it is possible to use the drug taking into account the sorbitol content in the amount of 0.18 XE in 5 ml of elixir.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia.

Treatment: artificial vomiting, gastric lavage in the first 1-2 hours after taking the drug.

Drug interactions

Combined use with antitussive drugs leads to difficulty in sputum discharge.
