pharmachologic effect

Combined expectorant drug. It has mucolytic and expectorant effects, and also has anti-inflammatory activity. The action of the elixir Codelac® Broncho with thyme is due to the pharmacological properties of its components. Ambroxol has a secretomotor, secretolytic and expectorant effect, normalizes the disturbed ratio of the serous and mucous components of sputum, increases the secretion of surfactant in the alveoli. Reduces the viscosity of phlegm and promotes its discharge. Sodium glycyrrhizinate has anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects. It has a cytoprotective effect due to its antioxidant and membrane stabilizing activity. Strengthens the action of endogenous glucocorticoids, providing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects. Due to its pronounced anti-inflammatory activity,helps to reduce the inflammatory process in the respiratory tract. Thyme herb extract contains a blend of essential oils with expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, this extract has weak antispasmodic and reparative properties.

Indications for use

Diseases of the respiratory tract with the formation of viscous sputum: - acute and chronic bronchitis

- pneumonia

Contraindications for use

Dosage regimen

It is taken orally during meals, with a little water.

Adults and children over 12 years old - 10 ml 4 times / day.

Children aged 2 to 6 years are prescribed 2.5 ml 3 times / day, from 6 to 12 years old - 5 ml 3 times / day.

The maximum duration of treatment without consulting a doctor is 5 days.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia.

Treatment: artificial vomiting, gastric lavage in the first 1-2 hours after taking the drug.

Side effect

From the digestive system: rarely - diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation

with prolonged use in high doses - gastralgia, nausea, vomiting.

From the respiratory system: dryness of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, rhinorrhea.

Others: allergic reactions

rarely - weakness, headache, dysuria, exanthema.

Drug interactions

Combined use with antitussive drugs leads to difficulty in sputum discharge.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) is contraindicated.

Special instructions Do not combine with antitussives.

In patients with diabetes mellitus, it is possible to use the drug, taking into account the sorbitol content in the amount of 0.18 XE in 5 ml of elixir.
