DESCRIPTION
Cobactan 2.5% - suspension for the treatment of diseases of bacterial etiology in cattle and pigs. In appearance, the drug is a white suspension with a slightly brownish tint. During storage, sediment may form, which disappears when shaken.
COMPOSITION
Cobactan 2.5% in 1 ml contains 29.64 mg of cefkinoma sulfate (equivalent to 25 mg of cefkinoma) as an active ingredient and an excipient ethyl oleate - up to 1 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Cobactan 2.5% refers to antibacterial drugs of the cephalosporin group.
Cefkinoma sulfate, which is part of the drug - 4th generation cephalosporin, has a wide spectrum of antibacterial action against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Klebsiela pneumoniae, Enterobacter spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Streptocostridium spp., Act. spp., Citrobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasterella spp., Proteus spp., Salmonella spp., Serratia marcescens, Histophilus somni, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, Bacillus spp., Corynebacterium spp., Bacteroobacterium spp., Fpp. ... and Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, including beta-lactamase-producing strains.
The mechanism of the antibiotic bactericidal action is to inhibit the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. After parenteral administration of the drug, cefkin enters the systemic circulation, reaching a maximum serum concentration in cattle after 60-90 minutes, in pigs after 15-60 minutes and remains at a therapeutic level for 24 hours. Cefkin binds to serum proteins less than 5%, is relatively quickly excreted from the body (half-life in cattle - 2-2.5 hours, in pigs - 9 hours), mainly unchanged in the urine.
Cobactan 2.5% according to the degree of impact on the body belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Cobactan 2.5% with a therapeutic purpose is prescribed to cattle for respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida and Pasteurella haemolitica, interdigital dermatitis of bacterial etiology, necrobacteriosis and acute mastitis, including those caused by E. coli, and colibacillosis (colibacillosis); pigs - for respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella multocida, Haemophillus parasuis, Actinobacillus pleuropneumaniae, Streptococcus suis, MMA syndrome (mastitis-metritis-agalactia), meningitis caused by Streptococcus suis, arthritis, bacterial etiology, and other susceptible cephalic infections
Cobactan 2.5% is administered to animals deeply intramuscularly once a day for 2-5 days, at the doses indicated in the table.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Shake the vial with the drug thoroughly before each use. To prevent a local reaction during the treatment of the animal, it is recommended to change the injection sites of the drug.
Symptoms of drug overdose in the animal were not identified.
The peculiarities of the action at the first administration of the drug and at its withdrawal were not revealed.
Avoid skipping the administration of the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one dose is missed, it is necessary to enter it as soon as possible, then the interval between injections of the drug does not change.
Slaughter of cattle for meat is allowed no earlier than 8 days, pigs - no earlier than 4 days after the last application of Cobactan 2.5%. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified time limits can be used as feed for fur animals. Milk of dairy cows during the treatment period and the next 3 days after the last application of Cobactan 2.5% should not be used for food purposes. Such milk can be used after heat treatment in animal feed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of Cobactan 2.5% is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to cefkin and other P-lactam antibiotics.
SIDE EFFECTS
As a rule, there are no side effects and complications when using Cobactan 2.5% in accordance with this instruction. In some animals, a local reaction in the form of edema is possible at the injection site, which spontaneously resolves within 10-15 days. With increased individual sensitivity to the drug and the manifestation of allergic reactions, the animal is prescribed antihistamines and symptomatic therapy.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store the drug in the manufacturer's closed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of 2 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 2 years from the date of production, after the first opening of the bottle - 4 weeks.

Cobactan 2.5% is produced packaged in 100 ml bottles in glass or polymer bottles of appropriate capacity, hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced aluminum caps with clips for first opening control, packed in individual cardboard boxes.
