Pharmacological action

Candide-B6 - antifungal.

Violates the synthesis of ergosterol, which is part of the cell membrane of fungi, which causes a change in its structure and properties and leads to cell lysis.

Pharmacodynamics

Clotrimazole is susceptible to dermatophytes, yeast fungi (genus Candida, Torulopsis glabrata, genus Rhodotorula), mold fungi, as well as the pathogen Pityriasis versicolor (colorful lichen) and the pathogen of erythrasma.

In addition, it has an antimicrobial effect against gram-positive (staphylococci and streptococci) and gram-negative bacteria (Bacteroides, Gardnerella vaginalis), as well as against Trichomonas vaginalis, Malassezia furfur, Corynebacterium minutissimum.

Pharmacokinetics

Resorption is 3–10% of the administered dose.

Indications

- genital infections caused by yeasts of the genus Candida and / or Trichomonas vaginalis (candida vulvovaginitis, trichomoniasis)

- genital superinfection caused by bacteria sensitive to clotrimazole, mixed infections.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity reactions to clotrimazole.

Special instructions

To prevent urogenital reinfection, simultaneous treatment of both sexual partners is necessary.

With trichomoniasis, other drugs with a systemic effect, such as metronidazole, should be prescribed in conjunction with Candide-B6 for more successful treatment.

Vaginal tablets are not recommended for use during menstruation.

Dosage and Administration

Topically. Intravaginally, deeply administered in the supine position with slightly bent legs.

1 tablet (100 mg) 1 time per day (in the evening) for 6 days.

A second course of treatment is possible after consulting a doctor.

Side effects

Rarely - a sensation of a slight burning sensation immediately after administration of the pill, which disappears with continued treatment.

Drug Interactions

Vaginal administration reduces the activity of amphotericin B and other polyene antibiotics.

When used concomitantly with nystatin, Candida-B6 activity may decrease.
