Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics

Selective calcium channel blocker class IV. Improves cerebral, coronary and peripheral circulation improves microcirculation.

By inhibiting the entry of calcium ions into the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, it decreases the tone of the smooth muscle membrane of arterioles and decreases their sensitivity to biogenic vasoconstrictors (adrenaline, norepinephrine), and bradykinin. Reduces the excitability of the vestibular apparatus. It is characterized by high tropism to the vessels of the brain. It improves microcirculation, increasing the deformability of red blood cells and reducing high blood viscosity. It has moderate antihistamine activity.

Metabolism

Cinnarizine is completely metabolized.

Excretion of

T 1/2 is 4 hours. It is excreted in the form of metabolites: 1/3 - by the kidneys, 2/3 - through the intestines.

Indications

Treatment and prevention of cerebrovascular accidents: cerebral atherosclerosis, conditions after strokes, traumatic brain injuries, discirculatory encephalopathy

labyrinth disorders (for maintenance treatment for dizziness, tinnitus, rheumatic heart disease, migraine

treatment and prevention of peripheral circulation disorders: Raynaud’s disease and syndrome, acrocyanosis, intermittent claudication, trophic disorders, trophic and varico nye ulcers, diabetic angiopathy, paresthesia, microcirculation disorders

as part of complex therapy in the following cases: rapid mental fatigue, irritability, low mood, memory impairment and ability to concentrate.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Erythematous lupus.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Despite the fact that the teratogenic effect of Stugeron has not been established in animal studies, the use of the drug during pregnancy is possible only in exceptional cases, when the expected benefit to the mother significantly exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

It is not known whether cinnarizine is excreted in breast milk, so the use of stugeron during lactation (breastfeeding) is not recommended.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

lactose monohydrate.

Dosage and administration

Installed individually. The optimal therapeutic dose should be continued gradually. The maximum daily dose is 225 mg (9 tablets).

The drug should be taken after a meal.

Children 6-12 years of age are prescribed half the dose for adults.

In cases of cerebrovascular accident

Adults are prescribed 25-50 mg 3 times / day.

In case of peripheral circulatory disorders

Assign 50-75 mg 3 times / day.

For labyrinthine disorders

Assign 25 mg 3 times / day.

For the prevention of kinetoses

Adults are prescribed 25 mg 30 minutes before traveling with repeated use every 6 hours.

Side effects

From the digestive system: dyspepsia, dry mouth in isolated cases - cholestatic jaundice.

From the side of the central nervous system: rarely - headache in senile patients with prolonged use of Stugeron, extrapyramidal syndromes, depression are possible (in such cases, treatment should be interrupted).

Other: allergic reactions, weight gain, increased sweating in isolated cases - lupus-like syndrome, lichen planus.

nootropic and vasodilators, other drugs that have a depressing effect on the CNS (tricyclic antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives), there is an increase in their action.

Overdose

Symptoms: vomiting, drowsiness, tremor, hypotension, coma.

Treatment: gastric lavage, activated charcoal appointment symptomatic therapy.

There is no specific antidote.
