Chlorhexidine vaginal suppositories 16mg, No. 10

  • prevention of sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes and others);

  • prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after the installation of an intrauterine device (IUD), before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine examinations);

  • treatment of bacterial vaginosis, colpitis (including nonspecific, mixed, Trichomonas).

Intravaginally. Having previously released the suppository from the blister strip packaging, it is inserted into the vagina in the supine position.

For treatment : 1 suppository 2 times / day for 7-10 days. If necessary, it is possible to extend the course of treatment up to 20 days.

For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections: 1 suppository no later than 2 hours after intercourse.

pharmachologic effect

Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic drug for local (intravaginal) use, active against protozoa, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, viruses, incl. for Treponema pallidum, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gononhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, Herpes simplex type 2. Some strains of Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp. Are weakly sensitive to the drug, as well as acid-resistant forms of bacteria, bacterial spores. Chlorhexidine does not interfere with the functional activity of lactobacilli.

Pharmacokinetics

Systemic absorption with intravaginal use is negligible.

Indications

Side effect

Very rarely (less than 0.1% of cases), allergic reactions, itching of the skin, which disappear after discontinuation of the drug, are possible.

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and child.

Chlorhexidine remains active (albeit somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood and pus.

Overdose

Currently, no cases of drug overdose have been reported.

Drug interactions

Simultaneous use with iodine-containing drugs is not recommended if they are used intravaginally.

Chlorhexidine is incompatible with detergents containing an anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose) and soaps if they are administered intravaginally. Toilet of external genital organs does not affect the effectiveness and tolerability of Chlorhexidine vaginal suppositories. the drug is used intravaginally.

Storage conditions

Store the drug in a dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 ? C. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life

The shelf life of the drug is 2 years. Do not use after the expiration date.
