DESCRIPTION

Ceftonitis Forte is an antibacterial drug for the treatment of respiratory infections of bacterial etiology in cattle. The dosage form is a suspension for injection. In appearance it is a white to cream suspension.

COMPOSITION

The drug in 1 ml contains ceftiofur (in the form of crystalline free ceftiofur acid) - 200 mg as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary substances: propylene glycol dicaprilat / dicaprate up to 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Ceftonitis Forte belongs to antibacterial drugs of the third generation cephalosporin group.

Ceftiofur has a broad spectrum of activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including some anaerobic bacteria and strains that produce ОІ-lactamase, including: Pasteurella (Mannheimia) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus levii somnus, Frousobacter

The mechanism of the antibacterial action of the antibiotic is to suppress the functional activity of bacterial transpeptidase enzymes involved in binding the main component of the cell wall of microorganisms peptidoglycan, which leads to the death of bacteria.

After administration, Ceftonite Forte is rapidly resorbed from the injection site, and ceftiofur is metabolized to form desfuroylceftiofur, which has an antibacterial effect. The maximum concentration of the antibiotic in the blood plasma is reached 12 hours after the administration of the drug and remains at the therapeutic level for at least 7 days. Desfuroylceftiofur is excreted mainly in the urine (over 70%) and in the feces (about 12-15%).

In terms of the degree of impact on the body, the drug belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007).

INDICATIONS

Used for the treatment of respiratory infections of bacterial etiology in cattle caused by Pasteurella (Mannheimia) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, for the treatment of necrobacteriosis caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphyromonas levii, Bacteroides a spp., For the treatment of Bacteroides spp. caused by Escherichia coli, Arcanobacterium pyogenes and Fusobacterium necrophorum.

APPLICATION

Before use, the vial with the drug is shaken until a homogeneous suspension is obtained. It is injected once subcutaneously at the base of the ear at a dose of 1 ml per 30 kg of animal weight (which is equivalent to 6.6 mg of ceftiofur per 1 kg of animal weight).

It is not recommended to inject more than 30 ml of the drug into one injection site.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindications to the use of Ceftonit Forte is the individual hypersensitivity of animals to ОІ-lactam antibiotics.

Interaction with other medicinal products has not been established. When used together with aminoglycosides and / or loop diuretics, especially with existing renal impairment, the risk of nephrotoxicity may increase. Combined use with tetracyclines and amphenicols is unacceptable, since a significant drop, up to a complete loss, of their antimicrobial activity is possible. Do not mix Ceftonit Forte in the same syringe with other medications.

OVERDOSE

Symptoms of a drug overdose have not been established.

SIDE EFFECTS

The peculiarities of the action at the first intake of the drug and its cancellation were not revealed. When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. In some cases, at the injection site, swelling may form, which disappears spontaneously. With the development of allergic reactions, the drug is canceled and antihistamines are prescribed.

Slaughter of cattle for meat is allowed to be carried out no earlier than 20 days after the administration of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals. Milk can be used for food purposes without restriction.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Possible use for pregnant animals, animals during lactation and offspring of animals. No particular application has been established. The drug is intended for single administration.

PRECAUTIONS

When working with Ceftonit Forte, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicines. When working with the drug, it is prohibited to drink, smoke or eat. At the end of work, hands should be thoroughly washed with soap and water. Empty vials and bottles from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.

FIRST AID MEASURES

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water.

People with hypersensitivity to (3-lactam antibiotics should avoid direct contact with Ceftonitis Forte. In case of an allergic reaction or accidental ingestion of the drug in the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (with you have instructions for use of the drug or a label).

STORAGE

Store in closed manufacturer's packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at temperatures from 5 В° C to 25 В° C. During storage, delamination is allowed, which disappears when shaken. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle - no more than 28 days.
