For intramuscular administration, ceftazidime can be diluted with 0.5% or 1% lidocaine hydrochloride solution.

Adults and adolescents with complicated urinary tract infections - 0.5-1 g every 8-12 hours; with uncomplicated pneumonia and skin infections - 0.5-1 g every 8 hours; with cystic fibrosis, patients with respiratory tract infections caused by Pseudomonas spp. - 100-150 mg / kg / day (use in a dose of up to 9 g / day did not cause complications in such patients). For infections of bones and joints (IV) - 2 g every 12 hours; in severe infection (IV) - 2 g every 8 hours (maximum dose - 6 g / day).

In case of impaired renal function, the initial dose is 1 g. The maintenance dose is selected depending on Cl creatinine: with Cl creatinine 35-50 ml / min - 1 g every 12 hours, 16-30 ml / min - 1 g every 24 hours, 6Ц 15 ml / min - 0.5 g every 24 hours, less than 5 ml / min - 0.5 g 1 time every 48 hours.Patients on hemodialysis are injected with 1 g after each hemodialysis session, with peritoneal dialysis - 0 , 5 g every 24 hours (the concentration of blood products should not exceed 40 mg / l). Children under 1 month of age are administered intravenously as an infusion - 30 mg / kg / day (2 injections), from 2 months to 12 years old - 30-50 mg / kg / day (3 injections). Against the background of reduced immunity, with cystic fibrosis, meningitis, 150 mg / kg / day is prescribed every 12 hours. The maximum daily dose is 6 g.
