DESCRIPTION

Cefakar (Cephacarum) is a drug for the treatment of cows with postpartum endometritis. The drug is a homogeneous, odorless, reddish-brown suspension that exfoliates into two layers during storage.

COMPOSITION

100 ml of the drug contains: 10.0 cm? 0.2% oily solution of ОІ-carotene, 1.5 g of cefazolin sodium salt and excipients and fillers up to 100.0 cm?

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Cefakar has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action, helps to restore the contractile function of the uterus of cows with postpartum purulent-catarrhal endometritis and regeneration of the uterine mucosa.

The mechanism of action of cefazolin sodium salt is in violation of the synthesis of the microbial wall, has a bactericidal effect. Highly effective against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, including those producing ОІ-lactamase, especially effective against staphylococci, streptococci, E. coli and proteus. The drug is not active against mycoplasmas, chlamydia, rickettsia, eimeria, actinomycetes and viruses. ОІ-carotene promotes the regeneration of the endometrium, has an anti-inflammatory effect, and helps to increase the tone of the uterus.

Cefacar is low-toxic, does not have a cumulative effect, and is excreted in the urine unchanged.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Cefakar is used to treat cows with postpartum endometritis. For this purpose, the drug is preheated to a temperature of 35-40? C, the contents of the vial are thoroughly shaken and injected intrauterinely at a dose of 15-20 cm? per 100 kg of animal weight with an interval of 48 hours until recovery.

It is not recommended to use the drug if animals are hypersensitive to antibiotics cephalosporins.

Slaughter for meat is allowed no earlier than 48 hours, and the use of milk for human consumption - 12 hours after the last use of the drug.

Cefacar is stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 5 to 25 В° C. Expiration date 18 months.
