Caffeine-sodium benzoate and water for injection.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The drug has an exciting effect on the central nervous system, mainly the cerebral cortex, respiratory and vasomotor centers; significantly stimulates the spinal cord; improves cardiac activity; difficult to affect the vascular system; increases the efficiency of the striated muscles and increases urine output. The stimulating effect of caffeine leads to an increase in physical activity, a decrease in fatigue and drowsiness.

The strength and duration of the drug's action depend on the state of the organism, the functional activity of its various systems, the type of higher nervous activity in animals, as well as on the dose, which in large quantities can lead to depletion of nerve cells. Caffeine-sodium benzoate is easily absorbed from the injection site and quickly begins to be excreted mainly by the kidneys and partially by the glands of the digestive tract.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Diseases accompanied by depression of the central nervous system, the functions of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems (poisoning with narcotic, hypnotics), muscle weakness, shock conditions, vasospasm of the vessels of the brain, kidneys, heart. Spastic states of the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, maternity paresis in cows, various diseases leading to a decrease in resistance, weakening of cardiac activity.

The drug is administered subcutaneously in the following doses: horses and cattle - 5.0-10.0 ml; small ruminants and pigs - 0.5 - 2.0 ml; dogs - 0.2 - 0.5 ml. The dose volume and timing of administration depend on the weight of the animal and the course of the disease. The use of the drug does not exclude the use of other drugs.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

In relation to caffeine-sodium benzoate, individual sensitivity is clearly manifested within the same species, therefore dosage should be carried out taking into account the individual characteristics of nervous activity.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

The drug is contraindicated in case of increased excitability, uncompensated heart defects, myodegenerations, paralysis of peripheral vessels.

SIDE EFFECTS

Does not cause in recommended doses. In case of an overdose, anxiety, tachycardia, arrhythmia, and vomiting are observed.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
